Thesis. Google Docs and Habitica are two very different applications with very different goals. However, when integrated, they can work together to support each other.
Google Docs is a cloud based word processor that allows users to create, share and cplaborate on documents. The user interface is intuitive, allowing users to create documents within minutes. The document can be shared with others for cplaboration, or changes can be made individually by the owner. The application comes with a full suite of formatting tops that allow users to format text in their documents however they want.
Habitica is an online habit building application that combines aspects of a task manager, calendar and RPG game. Users can track their progress towards goals, complete tasks and earn points that they can then use to buy virtual equipment and pets. All data is stored in the cloud and synced across devices, so a user will never have to worry about losing their data again. Users are also able to add habits from other applications such as Lift and Todoist, so that all their tasks can be tracked in one place. The different areas of the application are divided into quests where users are able to achieve certain goals in order to gain experience points.
When these two applications are integrated together, Google Docs becomes a central hub for task lists. Using the “mailto” functionality of Google Docs, users can create new tasks directly from any webpage. When creating a new task, the user is given the option to convert the task into a Habitica task that they can then add to their Habitica account. Once the task appears in Habitica, users will receive notifications on their device as well as in their email inbox. They will also receive notifications when they complete tasks or when they receive comments on the task in Habitica.
One of the biggest benefits of using Google Docs and Habitica integration is that it makes it much easier to keep track of all your tasks. You no longer have to open multiple tabs in your browser or a separate task app to assess what you need to do next. Instead, you simply visit your Google Docs homepage and check out your Habitica tasks at the same time. This saves you time and allows you to focus on what needs to be done and not worry about whether or not you are forgetting something that needs to be done. For example, if you have a deadline looming, but have a number of tasks left to do before you are ready for submission, you can check your Google Docs list for all of your tasks, along with their deadlines, so that you know exactly what needs to be done and when it needs to be done by. You will also know at a glance what you have accomplished since you last opened up your Google Docs task list, so if you find yourself running out of things to do, you can browse through your list without having to create another task list or write down tasks on paper (which means more paper waste. Regardless of how busy you are, you will always know exactly where you stand with your tasks, because they will be right there in front of you on your computer screen.
There are also numerous benefits for Habitica users when using this integration. If you are using Habitica and Google Docs together regularly, then you will probably find yourself more motivated to achieve your goals because you are less likely to forget about them. By adding tasks to Habitica from Google Docs, you have already taken the first step towards achieving your goal. Your list of tasks has already been created and compiled for you, so all you have to do is go through each one and mark them as completed when they are finished. This is much easier than adding each individual task separately like many users do when they first begin using Habitica. By saving your tasks in this manner instead, it becomes much easier for you to keep track of everything that needs to be done, because it is all in one place. It also allows you to integrate both applications into your life seamlessly, because it removes the need for you to jump through different applications that may not work synergistically with each other in order to accomplish all of your goals.
As I mentioned before, keeping track of your tasks and goals can be difficult with habit building apps because there may not be enough space on the app itself to keep track of everything that needs to be done. Instead of having multiple tabs open or multiple windows open on your computer screen, you can simply open up Google Docs and see everything at once without having to do anything extra or add anything else on top of what already exists. Furthermore, integrating these two applications helps reduce some of the stigma associated with habit building apps such as Habitica because people think it is just a game instead of an application that actually helps people develop good habits like eating better or exercising more often. By integrating these two applications together, we show people that this application is legitimate because it is being used by someone who is serious about achieving his goals rather than just playing around with an app for fun. This allows other people who may be considering using the application but don’t think it is useful because it is just a game, may change their minds and actually end up using the application themselves because they see how useful it can be when they use it daily.
Moreover, integrating these two applications together shows how powerful the cloud really is. If a user wants to sync their data between multiple computers or devices, then they only need to install one piece of software on all devices – either Dropbox or Google Drive – which are free for personal use – rather than having to purchase multiple pieces of software for each device so that their data can be synced between them all individually. Having one piece of software across multiple devices works well for most people as long as they don’t ever need access to their data while they aren’t connected to the internet (such as while they are on public transportation or somewhere without cell phone service. However, if they want access to their data while disconnected from the internet, then they will need additional programs such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive that allow users to store their data even when they aren’t connected to the internet (or charge money if they want more storage space. Even if a user doesn’t need access to their data without connecting to the internet all the time, they still benefit from using cloud based programs because there is no need to download software on each individual device (which saves time and space), plus updates happen automatically so users don’t have to worry about going through hundreds of updates just so they can continue using their computer normally (which also saves time for us. Overall, by using these cloud based programs such as Google Docs and Habitica together, we show how powerful and useful the cloud can be for helping people across multiple devices work together seamlessly rather than having everyone use multiple programs individually just so they can sync their data between each other properly (which wastes time and money.
