Google Contacts is a free social networking service created by Google. It allows users to save information such as addresses, phone numbers and emails of their contacts in one central location. Google Contacts is designed as a platform so that it can be integrated with other Google services such as Gmail, Google Chat and Google Calendar. It also allows users to create separate contacts for both business and personal contacts.
CloudTalk is a free cloud-based VoIP application that is built on top of Google Apps and is compatible with any standard desktop and mobile phone. It works by users creating a CloudTalk account and entering their contact list from their Google Account. Once they have signed up, they can use CloudTalk both on the computer and their mobile devices to make VoIP calls. This means that users can make calls with any device or operating system such as Android, iOS or Windows Phone. They can also use any standard phone on a 3G network or better, although only cellular data charges will apply. Users have access to a variety of features on CloudTalk such as call forwarding, voicemail and SMS messaging. CloudTalk also has a feature called “Fplow Me” which allows users to have their contacts ring their phone number from their computer or device when they receive a call on another number.
Google Contacts can now be used as a directory for CloudTalk, as well as the reverse. When users sign into Google Contacts with their Google Account, they are then able to see their contacts from both services in one place. If a user then makes a call using CloudTalk, all the contacts available to them will be displayed in the same way that Google Contacts would display them. If a user logs into CloudTalk from a different computer, they will still see all of their contacts from both services. Users of CloudTalk also have the ability to make calls from any of their devices thanks to this integration. In addition to the existing VoIP service of CloudTalk, users can now make voice calls from their computers, similar to Skype. This is because Google Contacts has been made compatible with the XMPP protocp which is used for calling between different VoIP applications.
