Their website states that "Downtime Alert monitors almost every popular web server out there". They claim that "Downtime Alert is able to understand the behavior of your applications or services better than any other monitoring service." Their headquarters are located in Prague, Czech Republic and they have offices in New York City, London, Buenos Aires and Kiev.

Downtime Alert offers server monitoring services for all types of servers such as Apache, Nginx, IIS, LiteSpeed servers, load balancers and mail servers such as Postfix, Sendmail, Exim etc. They also offer website monitoring for all major online applications such as WordPress, Magento, Joomla etc., which includes thousands of plugins used on these platforms. Downtime Alert monitors different websites by using an API key from those websites or online applications. When they detect downtime through their API key they send an alert to GetResponse through an API key provided by them so they can notify their customers about the current status of their website or online application. When GetResponse gets notified from Downtime Alert they automatically increment a downtime counter for their customer account which they can display on their website using an iFrame code supplied by GetResponse. Then when customers visit their website while there is no downtime they see their counter showing zero downtime whereas when they see their counter showing one downtime they know that there is at least one downtime during that period of time that they have chosen to show on their site (between 1 hour to 14 days. Customers can choose what timeframe they would like to display on their site from 1 hour (and not any other number. up to 14 days.
