In October 2014, Flipkart announced a $700 million round of funding led by Chinese Internet giant Tencent Hpdings Ltd., which valued the company at $7 billion. In November 2014, eBay announced that it would sell its eBay.in business to Flipkart for $500 million in a cash-and-stock deal. This deal was expected to close by mid-2015 but hadn’t closed as of March 2016.
