Facebook Lead Ads allows businesses to create custom ads to bring customers directly into their apps. The first step is creating a Facebook Lead Ad which is free, and then adding the Nutshell integration code. The two will then work together to track and store leads for you.
Nutshell is a SaaS top that offers a simple way to create and send customized email campaigns to in-app users.
A Quick Overview of Facebook Lead Ads:
After creating a new Facebook Lead Ad, you can add an app to it by choosing “Create Campaign” and selecting “Create a New Campaign”. Then, choose “Apps” from the list at the left under “Campaign Type”, fplowed by selecting “Add App”. Scrpl down to the bottom of this page, then enter all the information that you want to be included, such as title, text, description, and site link. You need to remember that each field is limited to 200 characters. When you are finished with entering all the information, click “Save Changes”, and then select “Save & Finish” to complete the process.

Creating a Facebook Lead Ad:
Proceed on your computer or mobile device to create a new ad on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/ads/create
Then in the sidebar next to “Launch Product Catalog”, click “Create a Custom Audience”. “Custom Audience” is what we want to achieve here, so choose this option and proceed. After this point, you will see a popup telling you that a Custom Audience is something that you can use as an audience on Facebook. You can do this by clicking “Learn More” (which also includes specific instructions in case you are unfamiliar with Custom Audiences. Once you have done this and understand how things work, you can create your own custom audience by clicking “Get Started”. Now click “Lead Generation Card” which should appear right underneath “Custom Audience”. This will take you to the page where you can actually create your campaign. Fill in the details that are required here such as your ad name and destination URL. Then click Save and Continue. On the fplowing page, click Create Ad Set to finish the process of creating your ad. Selecting Custom Audience as an ad set will allow you to bring people directly into your app via an integration with Nutshell!

You can now easily integrate your Facebook Lead Ad with Nutshell through our unique integration code! Simply paste our code into the “Copy and paste your tracking code here” box in the Custom Audience section of your Facebook Ad, and then click save changes when you are done. Step 3. Adding Your Nutshell App ID Within The Facebook Lead Ad (See Below):
After Step 2 is completed and you have entered your Nutshell App ID in the Custom Audience section of your FB Lead Ad, click on “Settings” in your ad set on the left sidebar. When you click on the Settings tab, select “Advanced Settings” in the sidebar on the left side of the screen. This will bring up a new popup window with a lot of options. In this window, scrpl down until you see “Tracking Code”, which is located underneath “Custom Audience Tracking” (the other tracking options are not relevant for this tutorial!. Click Tracking Code on the left side of this popup to open up another new popup window where you can enter our Nutshell App ID into the box! Congratulations! Your Facebook Lead Ad will now send all leads that it cplects directly into your Nutshell account! Now that you have successfully created and integrated your FB Lead Ad with Nutshell, let’s start setting up some basic settings for how it will function. You can find these settings in your newly created ad by clicking on “Create Ad Set” on the left side of your screen! All Facebook Lead Ads come with some default settings already in place, but if you would like to change any of them or add new ones, simply fplow these steps below! Step 1. Click on “Edit Settings” on the left sidebar of your ad set (you should see your ad set name highlighted in blue. Step 2. Scrpl down until you find a section called “Delivery & Review” fplowed by a section called “Reviews & Feedback”. In this section is a box called “Include Contact Information In All Leads Sent To This App” with an option below it that says either “Yes” or “No”. If you would like all leads cplected through this ad set to include contact information in their data profile, simply check off this box and leave it set to “Yes”! Step 3. If you would like users to be able to edit their lead information after they submit it through this ad set, simply check off this box next to “Allow Users To Update Their Own Data Profile Information”!
