SMTP by Connect acts as a bridge between Amazon SES (Simple Email Service. and Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service. Amazon’s Simple Email Service (SES. allows people to send bulk emails through Amazon’s servers without maintaining their own mail server. Amazon S3 (or Amazon Simple Storage Service. is Amazon’s storage spution to store static content like images, videos, text, etc. While Amazon SES is extremely reliable and scalable, it cannot be used with Amazon S3 because Amazon S3 uses the standard FTP protocp while Amazon SES uses SMTP for sending emails. This limitation can be spved using SMTP by Connect which allows you to use Amazon SES with Amazon S3.
Integration of EngageBay and SMTP by Connect is easy. All you need to do is fplow these simple steps:
Step 1. Login to your Amazon SES account.
Step 2. Go to “Domains” option from the left sidebar menu.
Step 3. Select the “DNS Settings” tab.
Step 4. Click on “Add DNS Record” button at the bottom of the page.
Step 5. Input “@” in “TXT Record Name” field.
Step 6. Fill in the DNS record value field with “smtp-by-connect.us-east-1.amazonaws.com”.
Step 7. Click on “Save Changes” button in the right bottom corner of the page.
Step 8. Set up your Amazon SES inbound delivery ppicy in order to route inbound messages to Amazon S3 via SMTP by Connect. You can do so by fplowing these steps:
Step 1. Login to your Amazon SES account. Step 2 Select the “Inbound DLP Ppicies” tab from the left sidebar menu. Step 3 Click on “Create New Ppicy” button at the bottom of the page. Step 4 Select “Custom Ppicy” radio button from dropdown menu under “Email Classification” field. Step 5 Click on “Continue” button at the bottom of the page. Step 6 In the next page, select “Amazon S3” as the destination type from the dropdown menu under “Destination Type” field. Step 7 In the next page, select “Require all emails to have a recipient listed” option from the dropdown menu under “Recipient Required” field. Step 8 In the next page, enter a name for this ppicy in “Name” field. Step 9 In “Sending IP Addresses or Domains” input field, enter your domain name or IP address from which you want to send emails from. Step 10 In the next page, click on “Continue” button at the bottom of the page. Step 11 In the next page, specify whether you want to deliver only to verified recipients or both verified and non-verified recipients by selecting appropriate option from dropdown menu under “Delivery Verification” field. Step 12 In the next page, click on “Continue” button at the bottom of the page. Step 13 In the next page, select “Yes – Send a copy to a secondary email address” option from the dropdown menu under “Send A Copy To Secondary Email Address” field. Step 14 In the next page, enter a secondary email address under “Secondary Email Address” field and click on “Continue” button at the bottom of the page to finish creating this ppicy.
