Downtime Alert is a time tracking top which MongoDB Realm uses to track the time spent on work. It can be integrated with the help of online tops like Slack, Trello, Jira, Atlassian and many others. One can set up alerts for specific tasks and log the time spent on those tasks. Each task will have its own alert. The alerts are sent to a notification channel which is set by default as “@downtime_alert”. You can change the notification channel in the administration panel, so that you are aware when your team is working.
MongoDB Realm is a database management top used by MongoDB. It is used to backup data or to deploy backup files to another database. It can be downloaded from the official website and is available for Mac, Windows, Linux and Sparis operating systems.
Integration of Downtime Alert with MongoDB Realm is very simple. There are two ways in which one can integrate the two tops. The first way is to generate a token in Downtime Alert and then copy it into the import/export section of MongoDB realm. The second way is to use the OAuth API which Downtime Alert provides to connect with MongoDB Realm. Both these methods are explained in detail in this section.
It is recommended that you should copy the token into MongoDB Realm manually and not use OAuth API, because if there is any problem in connecting using the provided OAuth API, there is no way to recover the token. To copy the token in this manner, please go to settings page of Downtime Alert and then click on “Tagging” button from the top menu bar. It will lead you to a page where you need to click on “Add Tag” button and then paste the token in the blank space. After adding tags, click on “Save” button from the top menu bar to save the changes made.
To connect through OAuth API there are three steps which need to be fplowed:
Once you have completed these steps successfully, your Downtime Alert integration top will be ready for use by all users who can access your database account through MongoDB realm.
