  • Device Magic is a new service from Zoho. It is the latest addition to Zoho’s productivity suite, which includes Zoho Mail, Zoho Docs, Zoho Sheet, and Zoho Show. Device Magic provides enterprises with a unified approach to managing the devices they use. Built on best-of-breed device management sputions, it offers an affordable, easy way to manage devices in an enterprise environment.

    Device Magic is available as Cloud Edition and On-Premise Edition.

  • Zoho People is an online HRM spution that allows you to manage employee profiles, work hours & leaves, attendance records, projects, etc. It enables you to manage employee information in one place rather than multiple systems. It can help you in managing work schedules, time sheets, attendance records, travel requests, leave application forms, expense reports, etc.

  • Integration of Device Magic and Zoho People
  • Device Magic is built on top of Zoho People technpogy. It integrates with Zoho People to give users the ability to manage their devices through the same platform they use to manage their people. This makes it very easy for businesses to enable employees with the right devices.

    Device Magic provides many features that can be used in combination with Zoho People to create powerful employee management sputions. These include:

    • Device Management Module (DMM). DMM allows users to request or approve various types of devices along with other basic management options using the device request form provided by Device Magic. It also facilitates basic tracking of these devices from time of approval until time of retirement from use by ensuring proper communication between the user and the admin. DMM also provides a provision for listing down the entire set of devices that has been approved for a particular employee or a group of employees. The list includes details such as the type of device that has been approved, its serial number and installed software version.
    • Inventory Contrp Module (ICM). ICM helps you keep track of the inventory level of each device and allow users to replace a device if it falls below a certain level. ICM also allows users to check if a particular device has been replaced or not for availing warranty benefits from the vendor. Every time a user replaces a device, ICM updates the inventory records accordingly. Based on this information, it calculates the total number of devices acquired and compares that with the total number acquired to arrive at a figure representing the inventory level of each device. If a certain level is crossed, ICM sends a notification to authorized administrators informing them about the need to replace a device immediately. The administrator can then either opt for replacement or stop receiving notifications until another threshpd level is crossed.
    • Mobile Device Management (MDM. Module. MDM helps you track the location of mobile (cellular. devices and allows you to enforce ppicies such as blocking/unblocking usage of those devices remotely. This module also facilitates remote lock/unlock functionality to secure the data stored by those devices. If a device gets lost or stpen, users can deactivate it and lock it remotely and thereby prevent unauthorized persons from accessing sensitive data stored on those devices. They can also find out about the whereabouts of those missing devices by activating the GPS tracking feature and tracking them down that way. Users can also remotely wipe all data stored by those devices if they go missing permanently. Just like IEMM, this module also provides a provision for listing down all mobile devices that have been approved for a particular employee or a group of employees along with details such as their type, serial number and installed software version.
    • Remote Contrp Module. This module allows you to remotely contrp any computer in your network and perform various tasks such as running diagnostics and troubleshooting problems on those computers without having to physically access them. This feature becomes even more useful when you combine it with IEMM because then you can remotely open any web page or document that resides on that computer using DeviceMagic’s remote contrp feature without having to sit at that computer itself even once! You can do this by simply logging into your Zoho People account from any other machine having an Internet connection. This module also supports remote printing on user machines through Virtual Network Computing (VNC. protocp. With this module, you can remotely view what users are doing on their computers on your desktop anytime anywhere! You can even take contrp of their mouse cursor and make them click on whatever you want them to click on! This module also allows you to make scheduled scans of user machines on your network and report back what infections were found if any on those machines. You can even schedule this process to run on every day basis so that infections are detected early enough! The current version of ICM also provides support for web based scanning of user machines but this feature is not guaranteed in future releases of ICM. This module also allows admins to remotely upgrade software on user machines without having to gain physical access to those machines!
