Integration of Daylite and Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Daylite

Daylite is an easy-to-use, Web-based project management and scheduling program that provides a single source of information for both project managers and team members. Daylite allows users to manage their projects, tasks, and appointments from a single interface. It provides a centralized location where information is easily accessible by the project manager and the entire team.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a sales, customer service, marketing and support system that enables companies to capture and analyze customer information, gain insight into customers’ buying patterns, automate marketing campaigns, and serve those customers in a more effective manner.

Integration of Daylite and Microsoft Dynamics CRM

The integration between Daylite and Microsoft Dynamics CRM provides a seamless flow of data from one application to the other. With the integration, you can quickly create tasks in Daylite from a contact form or a lead form, or from an email or a phone call. When a user creates a task in Daylite, this task is created as a case in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, with all relevant details copied to the case record. As mentioned above, this is made possible because the information from the contact form or lead form is copied to the case record. In addition, if a user assigns a task to another user via email, the task will be created as a case in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, with all relevant details copied to the case record. The same is true when a user sends an email directly to Microsoft Dynamics CRM. In this example, the case would be created through a web-to-case scenario. In addition, a case can be created in Microsoft Dynamics CRM when a phone call is received. This scenario is called a voice-to-case scenario.

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM, there are two options for creating cases from emails or phone calls. automatic creation or manual creation. In the automatic creation option, cases are created automatically when they are sent to Microsoft Dynamics CRM via email or phone call. In the manual creation option , users can choose whether they want cases to be created automatically or manually when they are sent via email or phone call. For more information about these two options, see Automatic Case Creation Using Email and Phone Calls in the MSDN Library at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb221669(d=printer.aspx .

In addition to task creation from Microsoft Dynamics CRM, when users create tasks from within Daylite, these tasks are added as cases in Microsoft Dynamics CRM with all relevant details copied to the case record. In addition, tasks can be assigned to other users directly from within Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Once users create tasks from within Daylite or Microsoft Dynamics CRM , they can view that task in Daylite or Microsoft Dynamics CRM . They can then continue working on that task from either application.

When tasks are assigned to other people in Daylite, these tasks are converted into cases in Microsoft Dynamics CRM with all relevant details copied to the case record. By using this feature of automatic conversion of tasks into cases, you can eliminate redundant data entry and avoid errors in task-related information such as the status of the task and its priority level.

In addition to cases created from tasks in Daylite and phone calls in Microsoft Dynamics CRM , cases can also be created from email messages in Daylite or Microsoft Dynamics CRM . This scenario is called an email-to-case scenario . Cases can be created from email messages that users receive via their Hotmail or MSN accounts or that are sent directly to Microsoft Dynamics CRM . When an email message arrives in your inbox in your Hotmail or MSN account, you can choose whether you want this message to appear in Daylite or Microsoft Dynamics CRM . If you choose to have it appear in Daylite , it will create a case in Microsoft Dynamics CRM with all relevant details copied to the case record. If you choose to have it appear in Microsoft Dynamics CRM , it will create a case in Microsoft Dynamics CRM with all relevant details copied to the case record. To set up this scenario, see Set Up Email Alerts for Your Contacts in the MSDN Library at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb228146(d=printer.aspx .

Users in Daylite can create tasks in Daylite for contacts that they have in their Outlook contact lists . These tasks are then converted into cases in Microsoft Dynamics CRM , with all relevant details copied to the case record. Once these tasks are converted into cases in Microsoft Dynamics CRM , users are able to view them in either application . To set up this option , see Add Contacts From Outlook Contacts Lists To Your Daylite Contacts List in the MSDN Library at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb222089(d=printer.aspx .

Users can easily convert their existing Daylite tasks into cases in Microsoft Dynamics CRM after having set up the appropriate integration between Daylite and Microsoft Dynamics CRM . To convert existing tasks into cases , users can go to their Tasks tab and click Convert Tasks To Cases . If the necessary permissions are granted , users can also convert existing cases into tasks by clicking Convert Cases To Tasks . Users cannot convert tasks into cases if they do not have permissions to do so (for example, if they only have permission to read tasks but not write them .
