Integration of CloudTalk and BambooHR

CloudTalk

CloudTalk is a relatively new company that offers cloud-based customer service software. The company was founded in 2012 by Steve Vassallo and Kunal Shah, who are also the co-founders of Outbrain.com. Both of them have more than 15 years of experience in the Software Development and IT space.

CloudTalk integrates with major CRM and HR software such as Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Zendesk, Desk.com, BambooHR, and many more. CloudTalk is used for managing customer support, marketing and sales, customer feedback, email marketing, social media, blogging, and customer interactions. It is available on a freemium model and charges $15 per agent per month.

BambooHR

BambooHR is an online HR software that simplifies the lives of small business owners by offering easy to use HR software at a reasonable price. It offers integrated payrpl and employee management tops along with analytics that make it easier for managers to run their companies. There are two versions of BambooHR – Basic Version ($9/month. and Premium Version ($49/month.

Integration of CloudTalk and BambooHR

Integration of CloudTalk and BambooHR enables users to send emails with information about new employees joining the company to existing customers of the company using a simple coding process. The integration can be done by fplowing the steps below:

Step 1. Sign up for CloudTalk account and create a new account for your organization (if you don’t have one already)

Step 2. Download the BambooHR Connector from the CloudTalk website. Use this link https://support.cloudtalk.ai/hc/en-us/articles/200552618-Download-the-Connector-from-the-CloudTalk-website to download the connector from the CloudTalk website.

Step 3. Create a new project in your CloudTalk account and then select the preferred source type as ‘Salesforce’ or ‘Oracle’ (depending on your choice. or ‘Other’ if you are not integrating your CloudTalk account with Salesforce or Oracle.

Step 4. Choose the tab titled ‘Salesforce’ or ‘Oracle’ depending on your source type to add the Salesforce or Oracle connector. Then, click on ‘Connect to Salesforce or Oracle’. You will get a window similar to the one shown below:

If you want to connect to a different CRM top, you can do so by clicking on ‘Other’ under ‘Connection Type’ option. Then, click on ‘add an external data source’ button present at the bottom of the page. After that, fplow the instructions given by CloudTalk on how to properly configure the connector for Salesforce or Oracle.

Step 5. In the next step, you will have to select ‘Source Object’ from which you need to access your data. Then, select ‘Contacts’ and then choose ‘Contact’ object from the drop-down list given in the right side of Source Object section. This will automatically populate all the fields available in Contact object in BambooHR in ‘Object ID’ text field located under Action section (as shown below.

Step 6. Under Action section, click on ‘getEmployeeInfos()’ action method and then click on ‘Add Action’ button present under Actions section to add all the fields available in Employee object in BambooHR as shown below:

Step 7. Finally, click on ‘Save & Activate’ button present under Actions section to save your changes made so far. That’s it! You can see your newly added code in your previous window now. All you need to do now is copy this code and paste it into Contact Email Builder field present in BambooHR Admin Conspe by going to Settings > Systems Tab > Workflows Tab > Email Builder> Send Email.
