Integration of Cloud Firestore and Pipedrive

Cloud Firestore

Cloud Firestore is a NoSQL document database in the cloud. It stores data as documents and cplections. It also offers a real-time backend for mobile and web clients. By using the Realtime Database, you can stream data from the Realtime Database to client applications with Cloud Functions for Firebase. In addition, Cloud Firestore can synchronize data between different client applications by using Cloud Functions for Firebase, which means that you can use Cloud Firestore without writing any backend code.

In order to create an app that illustrates how Cloud Firestore works, I decided to use the same app used in my previous blog posts. the Sales Tracker app. This Sales Tracker app uses a local database and some queries to retrieve and display data. To see how Cloud Firestore integrates with Pipedrive, we will create a new Sales Tracker app that uses Cloud Firestore instead of a local database. This new Sales Tracker app displays the same data as the original Sales Tracker app, but it uses Cloud Firestore instead of a local database for storing and retrieving the data.

Pipedrive

Pipedrive is a sales management software that helps you organize your contacts and leads. It allows you to create and manage customer lists and contacts. The basic version of this app is free and you can upgrade to the Premium Edition to get more features.

Integration of Cloud Firestore and Pipedrive

The new Sales Tracker app we will create integrates Cloud Firestore and Pipedrive by creating a Cloud Function for Cloud Firestore that listens for changes in the Realtime Database and triggers a Realtime Data Push to send Realtime Database data to Pipedrive.

To understand how this integration works, let’s take a look at the main functions of this new Sales Tracker app:

At first, we will create two Cloud Functions, one for Cloud Firestore (called Firestore. and one for Pipedrive (called Pipedrive. These functions are triggered by events in Cloud Firestore or the Realtime Database.

When an event occurs in Cloud Firestore (either a change in data or an update), our function listens, gets the data (or updates it if necessary), and sends it to the Realtime Database. Then, our function triggers another event in our Pipedrive function. Finally, our function inserts into the Realtime Database the list of subscribers that match the criteria provided in the request to the Realtime Database.

When an event occurs in the Realtime Database (for example, when someone subscribes to our Sales Tracker app), our Pipedrive function listens, gets the subscriber information, triggers an event in our Cloud Function for Cloud Firestore, and inserts this information into our local database.

When an event occurs in our Cloud Function for Cloud Firestore (an update in our local database), another event is triggered in our Pipedrive function. Finally, our Pipedrive function sends an email to all subscribers who match the criteria provided in the request to our Cloud Function for Cloud Firestore.

Benefits of Integration of Cloud Firestore and Pipedrive

As I mentioned earlier, using Cloud Firestore has many advantages over using a local database. First, it can be used anywhere since it is completely hosted by Google. Second, it supports offline access, which means that there is no need to worry about losing data if there are connectivity issues between your mobile application and your server. Third, it offers unlimited scalability, which means that there is no need to worry about growing too big for your current spution because you can always rely on Google’s infrastructure for scaling up your applications before they become too large. Finally, it offers great reliability thanks to its multi-region replication. All these benefits are perfectly illustrated by this integration example because it combines three powerful services from Google. Google App Engine, Google Big Query, and Google Data Studio.
