ClickSend SMS is a service that allows the user to send text messages to the user’s mobile phone directly from the computer. It is very useful for the message delivery between two individuals, because we do not need to use the application on our smartphone to reply the sender. In addition, this feature can be used in order to send information to a group of people, such as notification about some important updates to a mailing list.
Netlify is a website hosting service which is designed to build, deploy, and maintain a static website. Static website hosting is great for the purpose of the simple and clean design of a website without the additional code that can slow down the loading time of a website. This service is also great for users who are not familiar with programming languages and prefer using a drag-and-drop interface to create their own websites.
ClickSend SMS and Netlify are integrated together for the benefit of both services. Netlify is able to send out one-time mass texts to the users with no dependence on the network conditions in order to inform them about an important update. With the integration between ClickSend SMS and Netlify, you do not need to rely on the network conditions to get your messages out. In addition, you do not need to create a complicated software that requires you to spend extra time and money on it. This will achieve the goal of alerting your customers about an urgent update on your website or product as soon as possible.
In order to make this integration work, you will need an API key from ClickSend SMS and Netlify. For ClickSend SMS, go here for more details. The API key for Netlify can be found here. https://app.netlify.com/settings#api-access-keys
Once you have obtained your API key, go to Netlify’s settings page and find “Build & deploy” section. Then click on “Deployment Source” button and select “Deploy from Git” option. Once you clicked on it, you will see two input fields. “Deployment provider” and “Repository URL”. After filling these two fields, click on “Add Deployment Source” button at the bottom right corner. Take note of the deployment path displayed on the next screen as you will need this later. Then go back to your GitHub repository, click on “Settings” tab, then click on “Webhooks & Services” option. Now click on “+ Add Service” button at the top left corner and fill in the fields with the fplowing details:
Service name. ClickSend SMS
Label. ClickSend SMS
Post body. /pusher/webhook/:pushToken/:messageBody (replace pushToken with your push token and messageBody with the message that you want to send)
Then click on “Add Service” button at the bottom right corner. Once you have done all of these steps, there should be an icon with a green arrow at the upper right corner of your repository page, indicating that you have successfully connected ClickSend SMS with Netlify. You just need to push a new commit to your repository in order to trigger a build and send out your messages automatically. In order to test out this feature, here are some sample texts that you can use. Just replace <YOUR_PUSH_TOKEN> and <YOUR_MESSAGE_TEXT> with your own values:
