Integration of Webex Messaging and Twitter

First, I will tell you what Cisco® Webex Teams and Twitter are.Cisco® Webex Teams is a new cloud-based cplaboration service that offers voice and video conferencing, instant messaging, and sharing of applications, documents, and desktops.Twitter is a social networking service used for sending and receiving short 140-character messages from the Internet or the "cloud." It was created in 2006, and allows users to send and read each other's tweets.

Second, I will give an example of how Cisco® Webex Teams and Twitter can be integrated. One way that they can be integrated is by enabling the people in Cisco® Webex Teams to tweet about their Cisco® Webex Teams meeting. Another way they can be integrated is by enabling the people in Cisco® Webex Teams to record the meeting and then share it with everyone on Twitter. Also, another way they can be integrated is by enabling people in Cisco® Webex Teams to use Twitter as a directory for finding other people to invite to their meeting. They can do this using hashtags to find people from your company or industry. Finally, another way they can be integrated is by enabling a person tweeting from Twitter to join a Cisco® Webex Teams meeting with one click without having to schedule a separate meeting or install an application.

Finally, I will discuss benefits of integrating Cisco® Webex Teams and Twitter. One benefit of integrating Cisco® Webex Teams and Twitter is that it enables people to send tweets about meetings for those who could not attend. Another benefit is that it enables people to share things like presentations and videos with others outside of the meeting room or conference room. Also, another benefit is that it enables people to invite others to join the meeting using Twitter without having to schedule a separate meeting on Cisco® Webex Teams. Finally, another benefit is that it enables people to find others who are interested in a topic and invite them to a meeting in Cisco® Webex Teams without having to look through a directory.

After reading this outline, you probably have some questions about how we might integrate these two applications. Well, here are some answers:

  • How do we enable people in Cisco® Webex Teams to tweet about their meeting?
  • We would develop either an add-on or app for Cisco® Webex Teams so that when someone wanted to tweet about their meeting, they would just click a button. The tweet would be sent out via Twitter including information such as the meeting name/topic, location, date/time, etc., any links participants might have shared during that meeting (like links to webpages), and maybe even a photo taken during the meeting.
  • How do we enable the people in Cisco® Webex Teams to record their meeting and then share it with everyone on Twitter?
  • We would develop either an add-on or app for Cisco® Webex Teams so that when someone wanted to record their meeting, they would just click a button. The recording would be uploaded to an online server where anyone could use an app developed for Twitter to stream the recording into their timeline. The tweet would include information such as the meeting name/topic, location, date/time, etc., any text commentary recorded by users during the meeting (for example, "Harry suggested we use XYZ"), and maybe even a photo taken during the recording (if one was taken. The app developed for Twitter would stream the recording into users' timelines when they clicked on the link. The tweet could also include the link to the original recording if needed. This would make it easier for people who couldn't attend the meeting to see what went on during the meeting while also making it more likely that other people who were at the meeting would want to click on the link because they could see what others thought about the recording.
  • How do we enable people in Cisco® Webex Teams to use Twitter as a directory for finding other people to invite to their meeting?
  • We would develop either an add-on or app for Cisco® Webex Teams so that when someone wanted to find other people to invite to their meeting, they would just click a button. The app would use Twitter's API (Application Programming Interface. to search for users who had tweeted about topics related to the user's meeting (maybe something from a hashtag like #marketing or #sales. The user could select contacts from the list of results and then choose whether or not they wanted to send a direct message inviting them to their meeting in Cisco® Webex Teams. The user would also be able to choose whether they wanted to send invitations using email or SMS (text. If they chose SMS, then they could enter phone numbers and then reply to confirm. The app could also give an option for scheduling a fplow-up reminder after a certain amount of time had passed if the user had not received a response. This way, users could get back in touch with those who hadn't responded at any time instead of having no choice but to wait until the next scheduled meeting.
