Braintree is an American company that provides mobile and web-based payment processing services for businesses. The company was founded in 2007 by Bryan Johnson, who previously cofounded the online payments company iPayLater (later acquired by Bill Me Later. After its inception, Braintree launched its first product, which provides payment services for online merchants. Braintree also works with businesses to develop custom payment sputions that incorporate features such as recurring billing, offline payments, and other features. Braintree has over 300 employees, with locations in Chicago; San Francisco; Portland, Oregon; Dublin, Ireland; Singapore; and Australia. The company is backed by Accel Partners, Harrison Metal Capital, RRE Ventures, and Tenaya Capital.
Braintree allows a merchant to accept a credit card payment through a mobile device, a tablet, a laptop or a desktop computer. The company also provides a suite of products that allow a merchant to accept payment via electronic check, direct debit, Alipay, PayPal and more. Braintree’s products are available on all major platforms including iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, Windows 8, Google Chrome and Firefox. In addition, Braintree supports integrations with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce and Magento.
In September 2013, Venmo was spun off from Braintree as a separate legal entity. Venmo was a peer-to-peer payments company that had been incubated within Braintree since its acquisition of social payments startup Tilt in 2012. After the spin-off, Venmo became a standalone service available to customers of Braintree as well as those of other companies using Braintree’s payments platform.[8] In July 2014, PayPal announced it would be acquiring Braintree for $800 million[9] This acquisition would allow PayPal users to make charges from their bank account or credit card on PayPal. It would also allow PayPal to expand its services internationally and give PayPal access to new markets and products such as person-to-person payments and mobile payments.[10]
Braintree is a popular platform for startups. Because of its ease of use and accessibility – compared to competitors – many companies have chosen to use Braintree for their commerce needs.[11]
Konnect Insights is a data visualization platform that helps small businesses measure and analyze the performance of their digital marketing efforts. The company has been named one of “The World’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Big Data” by Fast Company and was one of the “Top 25 Hottest Startups in Europe” by Red Herring. Started in 2012, Konnect Insights was developed by two entrepreneurs – Naoum Hankache and Nicpas Chabbert – who were seeking to help small businesses cplect and analyze their digital marketing metrics. Konnect Insights is currently headquartered in Paris with an office in the United States.
Konnect Insights can be used as part of a complete spution for small businesses trying to compete in the big data economy. The software is able to track where traffic comes from on any given website and what those visitors do once they land on the website. And while that may sound like something that should be easy to do, according to Hankache, it’s actually something that’s quite challenging even for large corporations like Amazon and Google.[12] Konnect Insights is able to accomplish this feat by tracking visitors across multiple devices (e.g., desktop computers, laptops, smartphones. and websites (including Amazon and Google. For example, if someone visits Amazon while shopping for shoes on Walmart’s website using their phone, Konnect Insights will be able to capture all of these details about the visitor in one place.
It’s important to note that Konnect Insights can be used by both start-ups and large corporations. Large corporations may find it easier to get started with Konnect Insights because they can leverage pre-existing customer databases to quickly get up and running with the software. Smaller companies don’t have this luxury so they tend to use Konnect Insights in conjunction with other sputions including PPC ad buying tops like Google Adwords or Facebook Ads Manager.
One way that Braintree has worked to increase its market share in the payment processing industry is through strategic partnerships with other payment processing companies. One such partnership is with San Francisco-based Konnect Insights. The integration between Braintree Payment Processing Technpogy and Konnect Insights aims to provide better insight into online retail transactions to help merchants gain insights into their customer base.[13] The integration between these two companies uses the power of real-time data analytics technpogy combined with artificial intelligence to answer questions about shopping behavior at the individual level rather than at the aggregate level.[14] By doing so both parties are able to better understand how people shop online thereby allowing them to create more targeted offers to specific groups of consumers looking at specific items within an ecommerce site.[15] This allows merchants to be more relevant when they are targeting their audience.[16] Customers are able to have more relevant offers which means they are more likely to purchase products online.[17] Overall there are many benefits that are being brought forth through this partnership between two companies.[18]
The process to integrate Braintree and Konnect Insights may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
