A. Basecamp 2 and Amazon SQS integration is relatively simple. When creating a new Basecamp project, a webhook is generated that will send an HTTP POST request to the URL of your choosing when the project is created. This URL will be specified in the Amazon SQS console and will trigger when a new project is created.Basecamp 2When creating a new project, Basecamp will create a webhook that will send an HTTP POST request to the following URL. (refer to image A.Basecamp 2 Webhook details
B. An AWS Lambda Function will be created that will receive the POST request from Basecamp 2. The Lambda Function will then take this POST request and send an HTTP request to an Amazon SQS Queue. This queue can be created in the AWS Console under the SQS tab.Lambda Function code exampleC. The newly created Amazon SQS Queue will need to have an IAM role attached to it so that the IAM role can make the appropriate calls to AWS services such as S3 or DynamoDB. The IAM Policy should have access to the desired AWS services and should allow the Lambda Function that was created in Step B to read and write data to the Amazon SQS Queue.D. Once the Amazon SQS Queue has been created, there is nothing else left to do! Every time a new project is created in Basecamp 2, the Lambda Function will create a new record on the Amazon SQS Queue and that record will trigger an email notification. Email notifications are configured on the Amazon SQS console under Actions > Email Queue Actions > Configure Email Actions > Send an email action.
2. For example, let's say you create a new 'Task List' project in Basecamp 2 and attach it to an SQS queue. This queue can then be accessed by your entire team through an email or mobile device app notification, which will keep your team in sync with everything that needs their attention while leaving their inboxes free from clutter.2-1. Every time someone adds something new to the Basecamp 2 list or edits a task, the information will be sent instantly to all of your team members' mobile devices and email accounts. This can help your team stay on top of everything that needs their attention while still keeping their inboxes clutter free.3. You can even use this integration to help yourself stay on track at home! If you're working on a big project that requires you to do something outside of work hours, you can simply make a list of things you still need to do and add it to Basecamp 2's Task List project. Then, when you go home for the night, you can receive messages on your phone or email about what needs your attention tomorrow so you don't forget anything important!4. If you're interested in using this method of keeping your team organized, all you need to do is create a new Project in Basecamp 2 and select which type of project it is (such as Task List. Then, copy the webhook URL provided by base camp and paste it into Amazon SQS as shown below.
