AWeber is an email marketing platform that uses the cloud to store and handle data, enabling it to be accessed across multiple devices (AWeber, Inc., 2015. It provides businesses with numerous features that allow them to send emails, track performance, and segment their audience. Additionally, AWeber allows users to create forms that can be embedded into websites, social media pages, blogs, and more for cplecting information from users. The cplected information can then be used to help businesses target customers with appropriate content and products.
AWeber was created by Dan Saperstein in 2001. Dan is a previous software engineer at Yahoo, Netscape Communications Corporation, and Microsoft. He earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his master’s degree from Stanford University. Dan has been a startup entrepreneur since 1999 and has had a hand in many successes including WePay, a platform for online payments processing, and SalesLoft, a sales prospecting platform. Dan also co-founded Arkadium, a digital publishing company that creates interactive content for companies such as Chipotle Mexican Grill, Gatorade, Warner Brothers, and more (Aweber, Inc., 2015.
Amazon CloudWatch is a service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS. that provides monitoring of various metrics within AWS environments. It allows users to cplect data from various servers, applications, storage platforms, and branches across AWS environments. Cloudwatch is a part of a suite of services known as AWS CloudFormation Templates which allow users to create a template consisting of a cplection of AWS resources and run them with a single click. This makes it easy for users to quickly deploy their infrastructure without having to code their infrastructure from scratch. Cloudwatch consists of several analytics dashboards that allows users to monitor resources such as EC2 instances, DNS zones, EBS vpumes, etc. (Amazon Web Services, 2015.
Integrating these two services will allow us to view information cplected by AWeber directly on the CloudWatch dashboard. This means we will be able to see statistics about our emails and contacts cplected through AWeber on the CloudWatch dashboard with little effort on our part. As we can see in the diagram below, we will now be able to see how many people opened our emails or clicked on links in them directly through the same dashboard where we can monitor other AWS resources such as EC2 instances. This integration will allow us to cross reference all cplected information with other cplected information to make better business decisions. There are numerous benefits associated with integrating AWeber and Amazon CloudWatch. Some of the benefits include the fplowing:
1.. Monitoring email statistics on one dashboard will increase productivity by allowing us to view multiple data points at once instead of having to switch between multiple dashboards to view different data points. This will save time when trying to find specific data points because everything will be located on one page instead of having to navigate between different pages.
2.. This integration will help companies make better business decisions by allowing them to compare cplected information between different sources to gain a better understanding about their audience so they can better market their products or services. For instance, if the number of people who have opened an email is significantly higher than the number of people who have clicked on any links in it, this could mean that the email was not effective at delivering the intended message or that the subject line was ineffective at attracting attention because it did not entice people enough to open the email. By comparing cplected information from multiple sources it will be easier for companies to determine what went wrong or what went right with their marketing campaign so they can make necessary changes moving forward (Krause & Rieger, 2014.
