Vimeo was founded in 2004 by two filmmakers who wanted to share videos online without worrying about any copyright theft or other issues. The company quickly gained popularity among independent filmmakers and soon started to make profits. Throughout its existence, the company has received several awards for its work. It was acquired by IAC in 2010 for $200 million after which it released several new products including an app for iPad. In 2013, the company hit one million subscribers, which was considered one of the biggest milestones after the acquisition. According to the CEO of the company, the merger with Autotask would provide both companies with opportunities to expand their markets, while increasing technpogical capabilities. When asked about his opinion on the merger, the CEO of Autotask said that he thought it would be mutually beneficial to both parties, but didn’t reveal any details about what kind of products would be introduced or how they might be integrated into the Autotask suite, except that there will be some integration between Autotask and Vimeo’s two products.
