Amazon SQS makes it simple and cost-effective to decouple these components using the messaging pattern. Applications can send messages to an Amazon SQS queue, and other applications can then quickly and reliably retrieve and process those messages using very simple programming interfaces. Using Amazon SQS, developers can build applications that can scale elastically while also providing high availability. Amazon SQS queues are designed to be accessed concurrently by multiple applications, or even multiple processes running on the same application.
Alegra is a cloud-based PSA (Production Support Automation. spution that enables businesses to automate many of the manual processes associated with production support. Alegra consists of three modules. Scheduling, Workflow & Cplaboration, and IT Operations Management. The Scheduling module gives users the ability to create and manage their own workflows that automate business processes such as order fulfillment or customer service. In addition, the Scheduling module allows non-IT users to schedule internal resources for tasks such as equipment maintenance or delivery scheduling. The Workflow & Cplaboration module provides a web-based interface that allows users to cplaborate across departments and organizations. Through this interface users can create workflow templates and “drag and drop” process steps to produce a workflow that automates a business process. The IT Operations Management module helps IT professionals manage their systems more effectively. Through this module, IT can monitor inventory levels of physical assets such as servers, software licenses, and printers. Send Messages via Amazon SQS. To send messages via Amazon SQS, your application must first be registered for these services. You can set up your application for Amazon SQS using AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM. With IAM, you can specify which applications have permission to use Amazon SQS and what actions those applications may perform during the course of operating in your AWS account. For example, you can grant an application access only to read from certain queues or to write only to queues that you specify. From there, your application would need to be registered with Amazon SQS as a client. After the application is registered as a client, it is ready to send and receive messages from its queues.
Retrieve Messages via Alegra. All messages sent using the Alegra API go through the Alegra Service Bus (ASB. It is therefore necessary to send all messages to Alegra via the ASB in order for them to be retrieved by Alegra. When sending messages to Alegra via the ASB you must set the Message Type attribute in the Mapper XML file to PublishEvent.
