Apptivo is a cloud based Business Management Software that helps businesses manage multiple business areas. Apptivo can help your business to manage your customers, employees, inventory, accounting, e-commerce stores, order management, help desk, and more.
The integration of Amazon EC2 and Apptivo can be done by integrating Apptivo with AWS CloudFormation. CloudFormation is a web service providing a blueprint for building recommended or supported platforms using AWS services. It allows users to create an AWS resource from a template.
Users can choose a template from a list of sample templates provided by AWS. Each sample template has a description and a set of parameters that can be customized as per needs. Once a template is selected, all its parameters are automatically populated with values that are recommended by AWS. Users can then modify the values as required and build the AWS resources as soon as they are ready to use.
CloudFormation automates the process of creating and updating infrastructure resources such as Amazon EC2 instances and Elastic Load Balancers. It also manages changes in hardware configuration such as adding/removing storage vpumes. It can also launch and shut down instances as per requirements. When a user wants to scale up or scale down the number of instances in the production system, CloudFormation can handle these changes as well.
Integrating Amazon EC2 and Apptivo reduces the cost and time required to build and maintain backend systems such as databases and application servers. Instead of having to purchase dedicated hardware for running the databases and application servers, users can now rely on Amazon’s elastic cloud infrastructure to host their backend systems. This saves both time and money as it eliminates the need to purchase additional hardware. It also reduces the risk of failure due to hardware malfunctions since there is no physical hardware invpved at all. Users will only be paying for the number of hours that the backend systems are actually running plus storage space for storing application data.
Integrating Apptivo with AWS paves the way for rapid scalability if there was ever a need for it. Apptivo is built using Ruby on Rails which, although being highly scalable, requires some time for scaling up vertically when new features are being added or load on existing features increases. While vertical scaling requires new hardware to be purchased for scaling up, horizontal scaling is performed by scaling out horizontally by adding more instances of the same type of instance to increase performance on existing services. This is achieved by dividing the workload across multiple instances. By integrating Apptivo with AWS CloudFormation, users can simply launch more instances on demand whenever more capacity is needed. CloudFormation also handles all aspects of adding or removing more instances without users needing to worry about managing their own hardware. This makes it possible to scale up or down Apptivo’s services quickly without any effort on behalf of users.
