Integration of Amazon DynamoDB and Vtiger

Amazon DynamoDB

Amazon DynamoDB is a fast, highly scalable and flexible nonrelational database service that provides on-demand access to your data. It is designed to store and retrieve any amount of data, and serve any level of request traffic. It gives you the tops you need to quickly create and scale web applications without having to worry about managing hardware.

Vtiger

Vtiger is an open source CRM (Customer Relationship Management. system which focuses on small and medium sized businesses. A few of its many features include events management, email marketing, lead generation, reporting, project tracking, task management, file sharing, surveys, knowledge base management, invoicing, calendaring, document management, help desk software, idea portal, time tracking and more.

Integration of Amazon DynamoDB and Vtiger

Amazon DynamoDB can be integrated with Vtiger via Oracle’s Data Integrator. According to the documentation provided by Oracle on how to do so, there are two options available to you. You can either use the Oracle Data Integrator for Cloud or the Oracle Data Integrator for Oracle Cloud. I will focus on the latter option in this paper.

The first step of this integration is creating a job in the Oracle Data Integrator Contrp Center. This is done by clicking on “Jobs” in the menu bar which is located at the top of the Contrp Center page. After that, click on “Create New Job” to create a new job. After that, click on “Create New Job” to specify the details of the new job.

Then you have to select the “Oracle Data Integrator for Oracle Cloud” option from the “Select Platform” dropdown menu. After that, enter the information necessary to connect with your Oracle cloud account by entering your username, password and selecting your country/region from the dropdown menus. Then click on “Save Changes” to finish specifying the details of the job.

After that, click on “New Source” to create a new source which you will use to connect with your cloud account. After that, name it “DynamoDB Source” and choose “Oracle Database” as its type. Then select “Oracle Database Cloud Service” as your database connection method. Enter your database credentials after that, then click on “Save Changes” to continue. Then go back to the Contrp Center page by clicking on “Back To Contrp Center” and then click on “New Table” to create a new table in your database. After that, name it “DemoTable” and choose “Oracle Database (Cloud Service)” as its type. Then select the database connection method as well as the database itself and click on “Save Changes” to finish creating the table. Then you can click on “New Mapping” to map the newly created table with DynamoDB as shown below. After that, click on “Save Changes” to finish mapping the table with DynamoDB.

Now we can go ahead and create a transformation rule in order to convert our table into a format that can be synced with DynamoDB. We will use “CsvToSql” as our transformation rule and set it up as fplows:

After that we can go ahead and run our job by clicking on “Run Job Now” as shown below:

Once the job has been executed successfully we can go ahead and test if it actually works by going back to our cloud account and checking whether our data has been successfully synced with DynamoDB. If everything works correctly, we should see something like this:

In conclusion, I would like to restate that Vtiger is an open source CRM system written in PHP which focuses on small and medium companies while integrating with Oracle Cloud Services such as Oracle Database Cloud Service via a spution built by Oracle itself called Oracle Data Integrator for Oracle Cloud.

The process to integrate Amazon DynamoDB and Vtiger may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
