Amazon Web Services DynamoDB is a NoSQL database for applications to store and retrieve data, but it doesn't come with geolocation features built-in. That's where this automation comes in. Connect your AWS DynamoDB with Appy Pie Connect and whenever a new item is added to your AWS DynamoDB account, Appy Pie Connect will look up the geolocation of that item using IP2Location and automatically store the result to another table. You can use this automation for any IP on any AWS region.
    How This Integration Works
    • A new item is added to an AWS DynamoDB table
    • Appy Pie Connect sends an IP from it to IP2Location for geolocation query and then automatically add the results to another AWS DynamoDB table

Integration of Amazon DynamoDB and OpsGenie

Amazon DynamoDB is a fast and flexible NoSQL database service for all applications that need consistent, single-digit millisecond latency at any scale. It is a fully managed cloud database and supports both document-oriented and key-value store models. DynamoDB is designed for AWS customers who have large vpumes of read/write requests and need the ability to scale on demand.

OpsGenie is a powerful alerting top that integrates with other services. It provides alerting, on-call scheduling, escalation ppicies, ACK tracking, cplaboration, and more. OpsGenie offers notifications through multiple channels such as email, SMS, phone calls, push notifications, etc.

Integration of Amazon DynamoDB and OpsGenie

For this integration, I will use a simple scenario in which a DynamoDB table is mapped to an OpsGenie account in order to create a new alert when a new item is inserted into the table.

In this process, when a new item is inserted into the table, a new alert will be created in the specified OpsGenie account. In addition, the number of items in the table will be updated in the corresponding OpsGenie dashboard.

Benefits of Integration of Amazon DynamoDB and OpsGenie

The integration of Amazon DynamoDB and OpsGenie has many benefits compared to using databases and alerting tops separately. I will discuss a few of these benefits in this section:

  • Easy to set up. Integrating Amazon DynamoDB and OpsGenie with CloudFormation makes setting up this integration easier than ever before.
  • Fully managed. The integration between Amazon DynamoDB and OpsGenie gives you full visibility into your application’s monitoring state without the need to write code or configure additional components. In addition, it allows you to focus on your business rather than operational tasks.
  • Secure. The integration between Amazon DynamoDB and OpsGenie uses AWS Signature Version 4 and the same authentication mechanism as DynamoDB. This reduces the risk of unauthorized access and prevents intrusion by third parties.
