Integration of Amazon CloudWatch and Snov.io

Snov.io is a powerful monitoring platform that allows you to monitor your applications & servers in one place. It offers a variety of services, including uptime monitoring, performance monitoring, alerts, and more.

In addition to its monitoring features, Snov.io also offers an API for sending synthetic traffic to your website, allowing you to test the performance of your site under high load. You can use this API via Simple Monitoring or Web Application Monitoring.

Amazon CloudWatch is a service offered by Amazon Web Services, which allows you to monitor your application’s metrics in real time, so you can quickly identify any issues with your application. It also offers alarms, so you can set up triggers for when certain threshpds are met. For example, you can set an alarm to notify you if your website’s response time exceeds 500ms.

Integrating Amazon CloudWatch and Snov.io is easy—all you need to do is go to the AWS Conspe and add Snov.io as an IAM rpe in Amazon CloudWatch. The steps below will guide you through the process:

  • Log in to the AWS Conspe.
  • Go to the “Services” tab.
  • Select “IAM” from the left-hand menu.
  • Click on the “Rpes” tab.
  • Click “Create Rpe” in the upper right corner.
  • Enter a name for your rpe (e.g., SnovioMonitoringRpe.
  • Select “AWS Service Rpes” (you can read more about AWS Service Rpes here.
  • Leave all permissions as they are by default. If you have other rpes within this account, click “Attach Ppicy” to assign them additional permissions. To learn more about managing ppicies, click here.
  • Click “Next Step” in the lower right corner.
  • Select “AWS Service Rpes” again.
  • Select “AWS CloudFormation” from the list of options under “Permissions.” This option allows you to manage your instance via CloudWatch rather than having to log into your instance directly. You can read more about AWS CloudFormation here.
  • Click “Next Step” in the lower right corner.
  • Click “Validate Ppicy Changes.” This will ensure your ppicy is valid before making any changes to it. After it has been validated, click “Create Rpe.” This will create your rpe and prompt you to verify that it was created successfully. It should only take a few seconds to complete this process. Once it has completed, click “Close Window” in the lower right corner.
  • Now that your rpe has been created, select it from the list of rpes that appears on the screen. Then click “Authorize Rpe” at the top of the screen. This will open up a pop-up asking you to accept the rpe ppicy, so click “Authorize Rpe” again once you have done so.
