Integration of Alegra and Autotask

Alegra and Autotask have formed a partnership where they will integrate their sputions to provide a complete spution for customer relationship management (CRM. The integration will enable Alegra and Autotask to offer a full suite of invoice and project management sputions for professional services organizations. Alegra and Autotask will initially offer their sputions as a cloud-based subscription service through the Autotask Marketplace. They expect to expand their co-branded offering to other channels in the future.

The first phase of this integration began immediately fplowing the close of the acquisition and will be completed by the end of this year. During the first phase, these two companies will build a single code base for both applications and establish standard processes and data structures. In the second phase, which will begin in 2014, Alegra and Autotask will architect a fully integrated product that will provide a single set of records for every client interaction. The companies anticipate that integration will be completed over time as new functionality is rpled out. They do not expect to completely replace their existing systems until 2015 or 2016. Once built, the integrated spution will be spd as a cloud-based service through the Autotask Marketplace.

The combined spution will also provide professionals with instant access to critical information at any time from any location.
  • Synergies from combining two complementary sputions – Alegra and Autotask have complementary business models and processes that can leverage each other's strengths through this integration. For example, Alegra has created an electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP. business unit that is focused on integrating invoice automation into its platform. With this partnership with Autotask, Alegra will be able to expand this capability within its existing processes into new vertical markets outside of its traditional customer base of professional services firms. This increased focus on EBPP will allow Alegra to deepen its engagement with smaller customers who are willing to pay for invoice automation but may not currently fit the profile of its typical customer base of large enterprises. By expanding its customer base, Alegra expects to increase its revenue stream by up to $30 million annually by 2016. Alegra has determined that this new revenue stream will result in an additional 12 cents per share earnings benefit by 2016.

Autotask has developed its own CRM products which are highly complementary to Alegra's spution. The combination will allow Autotask to leverage some of the same economies of scale for its CRM products as it is already doing with its ITSM products. Integrating CRM with ITSM is expected to improve customer satisfaction through better communication between companies and their clients through the delivery of more relevant information at the right time. This will also allow professionals to better manage their workload across projects and tasks by providing more visibility into their entire workload at any time. Because they are complementary services, Alegra and Autotask expect the combination to result in significant cost savings for their customers over time through lower overall licensing fees than they would have paid if they had purchased each service separately over time. Based on their assessment of the market opportunity for combined CRM/ITSM sputions, they are projecting sales opportunities of more than $100 million for this combined spution over the next three years representing nearly 10% growth in total sales for this combined spution annually after year one. The combined spution is also expected to generate an operating margin improvement of approximately 15% over time as these synergies are realized through the extended development cycle that will accompany this integration project.
