Integration of Agile CRM and Webhooks By Connect
Agile CRM is a software for managing customer relations, and this is an open-source software. The standard way of integration of Agile CRM with other applications or systems is by using API (Application Programming Interface. Webhooks By Connect is an application that supports the use of webhooks to integrate applications and services with the cloud. It supports many programming languages and platforms, including Ruby, PHP, Python, JavaScript, .Net and Java. This application is used to transfer data to other applications or systems in real-time.
This report will discuss how Agile CRM can be integrated with Webhooks By Connect via API, and the benefits of doing so.
First, we will discuss how Agile can be integrated with Webhooks By Connect using API. Firstly, we will have to sign up for a Webhooks By Connect account, which will give us a client key, client secret and Webhooks URL. We will then have to obtain the Agile CRM API key and create a new API user. After creating the API user, a unique API token will be generated that will be used to authenticate with the Agile CRM API. Next, we will install the Agile CRM API with Ruby gem as it makes it easier for us to interact with the API. Then we will need to create an Agile CRM user named ‘webhooksbyconnect’, who will act as a proxy between the Agile CRM and our application. This user does not actually exist in Agile but we need to add it so that it can act as a proxy between the two systems. Now that we have set up the Agile CRM integration with Webhooks By Connect, we will need to create a scheduled task in Windows and Cron job in Linux that sends logs from Webhooks By Connect to Agile CRM. These logs will be sent asynchronously every minute over HTTPS. We will then need to update the Webhooks By Connect configuration file with our API information using Ruby code. Lastly, we will create an application in Webhooks By Connect to receive the data from Agile CRM. The received data will be parsed into something meaningful and exposed on Google Sheets.
