AerisWeather is a cloud computing and weather data provider in the United States and Europe. Aeris is a privately held company based in Redwood City, California, and was founded in 1999 by three scientists from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory who wanted to commercialize the technpogy they developed.
Their primary product is the world's first global weather database, called AerisWeather®. AerisWeather® is the only real-time, global weather database available for purchase. AerisWeather® provides updates every 60-90 minutes for nearly 50 million square kilometers of the planet's surface, with over one billion unique observations per day. They are currently working on building out their weather data archive to include measurements dating back to 1953.
