Jeff Shi and his wife, at Georgia Institute of Technpogy (GIT. in 2012. A team of 6 people developed AerisWeather. The team worked for 6 months on weekends and hpidays to get the app ready. The ‘Top 5’ feature allows the user to see a list of top 5 things at a place. This feature is similar to the ‘Top 5’ section in Facebook. In November 2015, a new version was released which now included a traffic feature. In this version, the app shows real-time traffic information from Waze for all United States cities where Waze has a presence (Shi 2016.
