An A-series paper is a formal document that has been written in accordance with the requirements of one of the Standards for the presentation of research data. These standards cover the presentation of quantitative data, qualitative data, and experimental data, and are designed to make the use of the data easier for others to understand.
The A-series standards are:
- A-1 Presentation of Quantitative Data
- A-2 Presentation of Qualitative Data
- A-3 Presentation of Experimental Data
You can use A-series standards to improve the presentation of your data in a research report. This will make it easier for others, such as editors and readers, to understand your data and to use them in their own work.
You can also use A-series standards to improve the presentation of data in a thesis or dissertation. A-series standards are based on international standards for the presentation of research data. The standards are an initiative of the Australian Research Data Association (ARDA) and the Australian National University (ANU).
Standard A-Series Paper sizes along with their Uses
A0 Paper: If you are printing a poster or a large wall banner, you will need an A0 size paper. An A0 paper is an ISO standard size of 841 mm x 1189 mm (or 33.11 inches x 46.81 inches). In the USA, a standard letter size is 8.5 by 11 inches, which is referred to as an A size.
A1 Paper: It is also known as ( billboard paper) is the largest size of paper commercially available (40cm x 55cm). A1 paper is often used for posters and brochures.
A2 Paper: It is a ‘General’ level paper. It is the top of the standard GCSE range (hence the A2 rather than the A1) and is usually taken by students aged 16-18. Note that A2 paper is not the same as letter-sized paper i.e; A1 paper. The A2 paper size is a large format paper that is approximately 23.4 inches by 16.5 inches.
A3 Paper: It is a notepad that measures 10 x 15 inches. It is a little bigger than an A4 but smaller than the regular paper (A4 size). The A3 paper is used in both offices and homes. You can use it to write letters, create a to-do list, or make a grocery list.
A4 Paper: A4 is a paper size that is exactly 8.27″ x 11.69″. The A4 standard was created in 1916 by the CEPT, a European standards organization. It is the most popular paper size for offices and schools across the world.
A5 Paper: A5 paper is a small size paper (A5 is 10.5″ x 7.8″). It is the most commonly used paper size for schoolwork, memos, and writing in Japan, and is also used in the USA and other parts of the world.
A6 Paper: It is a standard size for note paper and cards in many countries. It is slightly larger than the A5 paper size and slightly smaller than the A7 paper size. The exact size of the A6 paper is 2.3 × 3.9 inches. It is used for writing small notes, taking a small memo or for a small letter.
A7 Paper: It is a size of paper that is smaller than standard letter size paper, but larger than a postcard. The standard size is 21 x 28 centimeters. When you are printing and cutting a document, you will need to know how to make an A7 paper to ensure that the final product fits the right size. The most common use of A7 paper is for making greeting cards.
A8 Paper: A8 paper is a paper size that is 8 inches wide by 11 inches long (8.5 inch high). A8 is the size of a sheet of paper folded in half twice, meeting the ANSI standard for full-size paper. This is a popular size of paper used in many office settings.
A9 Paper: An A9 paper is an A4 page that has been folded in half (like a letter) and then half of the page is cut away. This means that an A9 drawing is a very small one that can be easily carried around. A9 is a type of paper used in copiers, scanners, and printers.
A10 Paper: A10 papers are papers that have been published in a journal that is either a component of the A10 Journal Quality Metrics (JQMs) or the Turkish Citation Index (TCI). An A10 paper is a scientific paper that is accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
