How to Download YouTube Videos in 4K for Free?

There are millions of videos available for viewing online on YouTube and 4K video content is the new hot property on the platform. Though it is fun to watch these YouTube videos in 4K online, sometimes you may want to download them on your device and watch them later at leisure. 

As YouTube has emerged as the single most popular video platform, multiple online tools like YouTube Video downloaders, YouTube video editors, and video converters have gained popularity.   1. Download and install 4K video downloader on your computer/device
  2. Open YouTube in a browser or even the PWA version
  3. Search for the 4K YouTube video you want to download
  4. Copy the video link in the URL bar, or from the “Share” option
  5. Open the newly installed 4K Video Downloader on your device and click “Paste Link.”
  6. The downloader will now inspect the video data which can be just a few seconds, or longer depending on the size of the video
  7. Now, click on the “Download Video” option in the first drop-down.
  8. Next, you can select the format and quality you want for your downloaded video (available options will depend on the video’s native resolution).
  9. From the “Download Subtitles” drop-down you can select the subtitles you want to download as well.
  10. Click “Download.”
  11. You may have to wait a while for the download to complete. Just like step 6, the time taken to download your video will depend on video size and the speed of your internet. As a benchmark, a majority of the 1080p videos take only a few minutes to download, but when you are trying to download 4K videos it can easily take up to 30 minutes or longer.

Once the download is complete, you can go to the download history feed and click on it to start watching it. In case you want to copy and move the file elsewhere, you can find the file through the path - This PC > Videos by default. From here, you can move it wherever you wish, like any other file on your computer.
