I: Introduction

Welcome to the ‘Making money with affiliate marketing’ guide. I am glad you are considering making money with affiliate marketing, and that you found this site! Hopefully, you or someone you know has already tried it out and is making some good money with it. If not, don’t worry.

I will give you a quick intro to affiliate marketing, and then dive right into the fun stuff. I will show you how I make money with affiliate marketing, and what tools I use.

A: Make money with affiliate marketing

What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is when you promote products on another person’s website (affiliate) and/or product (merchant) via your own website (affiliate network). When someone signs up for the product or service, you get a commission. Some affiliate programs will pay you either in commission, or in cash. Some only pay in commission. The amount of money you make is dependent upon your affiliate program. You can make more or less depending on your niche, the type of product, the price, etc.

How does it work?

Basically, you sign up to make money with affiliate marketing through an affiliate program (i.e., Amazon, eBay, etc.). You then put a link to that product on your website. That link will be a special link that tells the website that it should send a commission to you instead of the merchant. For example, if you were promoting a book on Amazon, instead of having a link that said ‘buy this book on Amazon’ you would have a link that says something like ‘buy this book on Amazon and earn me a commission.’ In fact, there are 2 types of links: affiliate links and referral links. An affiliate link is the type I just described above. A referral link is one where you tell someone to buy from Amazon but then they end up buying from a different seller. These types of links are generally used for big ticket items because the commissions are smaller due to the increased competition.

As a beginner, I recommend using an affiliate network for this reason: by using an affiliate network, you don’t need to worry about creating an account with each individual merchant as affiliates can be found on multiple sites as well as multiple products. In other words, if I wanted to promote books from an affiliate network, I would simply put a link to their website which would connect me to multiple websites selling books from multiple merchants. This way I could promote books and cleaning supplies and whatever else and wouldn’t need to create accounts at multiple places just to promote products from those merchants.

The best thing about affiliate marketing is that it is easy to do and pretty much anyone can do it! You don’t need any previous experience or education to get started – only an internet connection! So if you want to start making money right away, try making money with affiliate marketing!

II: Body

Now things get interesting! Now let’s start talking about actually making money with affiliate marketing by showing you how I do it. First off I want to tell you about my niche: health and fitness. I’m sure you’re thinking: “Why health and fitness? Why not mortgages or jewelry?!” Well, it took me a long time to figure out what my niche was going to be; however, now that I know what I want to do, I don’t plan on changing anything as this is what I enjoy doing the most! It is very important to find a niche that excites you as well as makes you feel comfortable sharing your opinions with others!









Anyway, now that we know what my niche is going to be, let’s talk about my niche partners: Guthy-Renker and Health Ambition! Guthy-Renker is known for distributing new products in the health industry while Health Ambition promotes existing products via their network of affiliates. Both of these companies are very experienced in the health industry so there aren’t any issues with trustworthiness. You might be asking yourself why these companies are OK with giving away commissions for free… well that’s because they are looking for people just like me to promote their products! They are willing to do this because they know that if enough people see their products being promoted by others on the internet they will be more likely to buy them! And guess what? That’s where affiliates like me come in! We spread the word about their products so they can make more money! All they ask in return is money… but they know that if they give us enough money we will be more than happy! There are hundreds of other affiliates out there who are trying to make some extra cash too! We all want some extra cash! So if Guthy-Renker pays some affiliates $50 per sale then they expect me to be able to sell at least 50 different products per month which amounts to at least $2500 in sales per month! There are thousands of people trying to make $2500 per month so even if Guthy-Renker only pays $5 per sale they will still be making money hand-over-fist! Plus there are also many affiliates who don’t even bother trying to sell the product itself but rather just use “spammy” techniques such as keyword stuffing and posting comments with links just to attract potential customers…





































































Now that we know why Guthy-Renker doesn’t care whether someone like me sells their products or not, let’s move on to Google Adwords (the advertising platform used by Guthy-Renker). What Adwords does is place ads on Google based upon keywords. If Google sees there is high demand for one of its keywords (i.e., ‘buy book online’) it will charge more per click for that keyword; thus making more money (i.e., more per click). Adwords allows businesses like Guthy-Renker (or any company really) to select any keywords they like and get charged every time someone clicks on their ad. However, since Guthy-Renker has already sold a lot of books online they have already gotten ranked fairly high in Google search results; thus allowing them to get cheap clicks from their ads! This means that when someone searches for ‘buy book online’ on google they see an ad for Guthy-Renker’s products before they even get a chance to look at anything else! As a result of this Guthy-Renker gets a lot of cheap clicks from their ads because people looking for their products already know what they want… thus saving them a lot of money! In fact, it costs Guthy-Renker less than $0.10 per click! This means that Guthy-Renker can afford to spend $5600 per day just on clicks from their adwords ads! This equates to over $1 million dollars spent per month for just clicks alone! That is a lot of money… It costs me next to nothing to get a click from Google Adwords… all I have to do is bid a certain amount each time someone clicks on my ad and Google will charge me whenever someone clicks on my ad… however, if someone clicks on another advertiser’s ad after mine then Google won’t charge me until someone clicks again after that…. anyways… Since Google has such cheap prices it makes sense for Guthy-Renker to spend their entire budget every day! If Guthy-Renker spent $1 million per month ($25k per day) there would be almost no risk involved in spending their entire budget every day because if one day wasn’t profitable (due to factors such as bad keyword selection or user behavior) they could make up the difference the next day by spending twice as much ($50k)! Also, since Guthy-Renker has already sold so much in the past they know that even if they don’t invest in new content for their site then their conversion rate (how many people actually go through with buying their products) will still stay high. However, let us take a look at what happens when Guthy-Renker invests in new content for their site: an increase in conversions means more sales which means more commissions which means more profits! So in order for them to keep buying ads and increasing their conversion rates all they have to do is come up with creative ways of convincing people to buy their products through interesting content and offers!
