The first step is creating a lookalike audience from the visitors of your website. Using the “Conversion Tracking” you can create a lookalike audience using the facebook pixel. As soon as one visitor converts, you can target other visitors who are similar to this visitor.

How do lookalike audiences work?

To create a lookalike audience, you need to draw a sample of your website’s visitors. You can do this by creating a custom audience and then filtering it down to see who converts (for example, who buys a product).

You use the custom audience to create a lookalike audience – then Facebook uses machine learning to identify other people who are similar to that custom audience. Your ads then reach those people.

This is an example of how it works:

The first step is defining a custom audience (e.g. people who visited your sales page). Then you filter down the audience to see who converted (e.g. people who bought your product). Finally you create a lookalike audience from the converted visitors (e.g. people with similar buying behavior).

Why should you create lookalike audiences?

Lookalike audiences are great because they help you to reach new customers. Instead of targeting random people on Facebook, you can target people on Facebook who are similar to your existing customers. This makes it easier for you to promote your products/services to new potential customers.

Once you have created a lookalike audience you can create ads that target it. To create ads that target your lookalike audience, just select “Custom Audience” in the targeting options of your ad set. Then select the lookalike audience you want to target.
