This course is brought to you by Appy Pie as part of our academy series number seven how blocks of time can be used to your benefit now scheduling helps you because it knows and your mind knows when to be working and when not to be working what that specific block of time is assigned to and what you need to focus on for that time so it helps you focus it helps your attention you know from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. you're going to be answering emails so if anything else pops up you're just gonna be answering emails don't focus on it this is going to help your attention focus is a muscle now in today's world there's electronics there's notifications there's always new things being thrown at us new things we need to deal with and we need to focus on and that's not necessarily a good thing especially when it comes to focus so if you're constantly scattered all throughout the day things are getting thrown at you figuratively I have to deal with them your attention is in a thousand places then your focus muscle is going to be weak but if you set out a block of time to focus on this task and then you deal with those notifications then you set up another block of time to do another task then you deal with the notifications your muscle that deals with focus your mental muscle it's going to be strengthened and you find yourself being able to accomplish much more in that same amount of time because you're not distracted anymore you're not focusing on X Y & Z so set aside blocks of time in your schedule where you can accomplish tasks and this builds upon the previous lecture where we talked about of training rhythm and using that to your benefit if you schedule blocks of time around that peak in that trough when you want to rest or when you have the energy to get the most done then you're going to be miles ahead of anybody else.
