This course is brought to you by Appy Pie as part of our Academy series number 11 the charlie munger method for meetings now before I get into it if you don't know who Charlie Munger is he is the partner of Warren Buffett with Berkshire Hathaway and if you don't know who Warren Buffett is he's a multi multi billionaire who's earned a lot of money in his lifetime and also impacted the lives of many in his lifetime but Charlie Munger is Warren Buffett's partner and he had a very great way to handle meetings if you have to go to them and a great way to outline them to make sure everybody gets the most out of it in the shortest time possible so we're gonna go over that method now now if you have to go to meeting these are the things you want to make sure are happening you want to make sure that everyone is clear what is the purpose of the meeting what are we trying to get out of this what is the outcome we're looking for everyone's clear as to why they're there you might have gone to a meeting where somebody pipes up halfway through and they say well what are we trying to accomplish here what are we trying to do here and that's not necessary make sure everyone is clear from the get-go what the outcome is and why they're there which ties in next one here everyone is accounted if somebody doesn't need to be there they're not at the meeting if somebody needs to be there they're there making sure everybody is there at the meeting who needs to be there so you are ready to start right when it's time to start this also ties in to the fact that they should be there on time so if the meetings from 9:00 a.m. they show up at 9:00 a.m. no excuses 9:00 a.m. is the time set for the meeting they're there they're ready to go when that clock strikes that nine o'clock for example clear objective I touch on this very briefly before but everyone knows why they're there what they're trying to accomplish whether the meeting is to increase sales to update everybody on an issue everybody knows what they're working for working towards so you know at the end of the meeting whether it was successful or not successful also have a specific time frame our long meetings 30-minute long meetings 15-minute long meetings you'll find that you can get a lot of the same stuff done in a smaller time frame so you can get as much done in a fifteen minute time frame if everyone's productive and focused then a 60 minute time frame but everybody knows from the get-go it's gonna be 15 minutes it's gonna be 30 minutes so on and so forth if it doesn't have a real time frame then it could cause issues people will waste time and that's not what we want to focus on in our lives that's not we want to focus on in this course now this one is so you have take advantage of the time energy and attention of the meeting so you save the chat the war stories or the boardroom stories for later so you save the chat for later make sure you get what's done make sure you get the objective done and avoid any issues okay at the end of the meeting have the notes typed as to what was accomplished what was talked about what everybody mentioned if anything happens in a couple months you want to make sure you can look back and see exactly what was talked about have the minutes typed up ready to go now I'm going to go over a meeting template here this is what you send out beforehand to make sure everyone's on the same page to accomplish all these goals so take a look at the meeting template in the downloadable material section you can use this to your benefit print it out use it you're gonna save a lot of time save a lot of energy save your attention and save your sanity for that matter too.
