How to become an amazon best seller

An Amazon Best Seller is an author who has published a book on the Amazon.com website and whose book has appeared in the Best Sellers list. The Amazon Best Sellers lists are updated hourly. As of 2017, there are three main Amazon Best Sellers lists:

#1 Best Seller in Books

#1 New York Times Best Seller

#1 Indie Bestseller

The #1 New York Times Best Seller list is updated every Sunday. The list is based on weekly sales figures compiled by Bookscan, which tracks around 85% of print sales through more than 15,000 retailers. All print sales are included, whether they are sold by Amazon or other retailers. Hardcover sales count towards Hardcover Fiction and Hardcover Nonfiction categories, while paperback sales count towards Paperback Fiction and Paperback Nonfiction categories. Digital books are only counted if they are sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC, although digital copies of print books are also included if they are sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC.) However, the projection of the number of Kindle e-books not sold by Amazon’s own stores onto the Hardcover Fiction and Hardcover Nonfiction lists is not done.

The #1 Indie Bestseller List is updated daily. It is based on an estimate of daily sales by independent booksellers using data from IndieBound.org. Authors whose books have appeared on the Indie Bestseller list include Bill Clinton, Michael Pollan, Barbara Kingsolver, Dan Brown, Arianna Huffington, Jhumpa Lahiri, Zadie Smith, James Patterson, Margaret Atwood, John Grisham, Malcolm Gladwell, Eckhart Tolle, Stephen King, Sarah Palin, Al Gore, Deepak Chopra, Elizabeth Gilbert, Eric Schlosser, etc.
