For instance, halving the size of the scene seemingly doubles the density of its objects, while doubling the scene size gives the impression that object density is cut by half.

Addressing this issue, particularly within the framework of Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) — a sophisticated method for transforming 2D images into highly realistic 3D models — requires innovative solutions. A notable proposal involves recalibrating the calculation of distances and densities to utilize logarithmic scales. This adjustment aims to preserve the consistency of object densities, irrespective of changes in the scene’s scale. Additionally, a novel approach for initiating the modeling process has been introduced. This technique is designed to be independent of the granularity with which the scene is digitally segmented, thereby enhancing the reliability of light transmission through the scene.

Upon reviewing various existing techniques in 3D modeling, it becomes evident that many rely on temporary fixes to navigate the complexities of scene scaling. In contrast, the strategies put forth for NeRFs offer a more robust and dependable means of ensuring uniform scene densities. As a result, these advancements pave the way for the creation of 3D models that maintain their realism and accuracy, regardless of the scene size.
