What is a domain name?

A domain name is a series of textual characters that identifies a specific website, an IP address, on the Internet. In general, a domain name represents an Internet Protocol (IP) resource, such as a personal mobile device used to access the Internet, a server hosting a website, or the website itself or any other service communicated via the Internet.
One of the greatest advantages of using domain name is that your email and website address remains the same, no matter how many times you change your access provider.
