CalendarHero is a web-based program that allows users to manage their personal calendar; it also has an integrated email program for sending invites, event reminders, and other types of email. It was developed by Zoho Corporation in 2008, which has been in the business of providing web-based application services since 1996. The service is free to use by individuals, but there are paid plans available for businesses. Similarly, there are also paid plans for educational institutions. For example, the G Suite for Education plan offers the same benefits offered to individuals with the exception of making it available to multiple users within an institution. The company has expanded its offering over the last few years by adding Google integration, along with other integrations, including Skype for Business, Slack, Twitter, Trello, Dropbox, Evernote, Gmail, Outlook, OneDrive, Salesforce, and Zendesk. However, the focus has always been on helping users manage their work life in order to be more productive in order to perform at their best. This is accomplished by taking the daily tasks that are performed into one program that helps streamline it all. This makes it easier to manage everything in one place instead of having to go back and forth between programs.
Sentry is a bug tracker created in 2002 by Jeffrey Friedl in order to provide an alternative to the popular bug tracking program called Bugzilla. It was created because Friedl did not like Bugzilla’s user interface and was trying to create something that was easier to use and would get rid of all unnecessary features. The original name for this program was Bugtrap. Later, after many suggestions from users who were testing the program, it was changed to Sentry and uploaded to Sourceforge in 2005. However, it did not receive much attention until version 2.0 was released in 2009. This updated version included a newer look and feel and a new plugin system that allowed developers to add new features and customize the interface to fit their needs, according to the Sentry website. In January 2011, Friedl decided to retire from working on the project and left it open source so that others could continue developing it without him. The current version that is available is 4.0; it offers two versions; a free hosted version that has many features that allows organizations to customize it to fit their needs and an enterprise version that gives organizations the ability to host the code on their own servers and offers unlimited storage and support options. Since 2011, there have been over 200 contributors who have contributed to this project; therefore, it has grown significantly since its inception and has become a very popular bug tracking program. It is currently used by major companies such as Adobe, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Tesla Motors, Netflix, Uber, Facebook, Mozilla, Twitter, Spotify, Slack, Reddit, Salesforce, Square Inc., Etsy Inc., BMW Group Research & Technpogy GmbH, OpenStack Foundation, Mozilla Corporation, ebay Inc., Ubuntu Linux Foundation, Samsung Electronics Co., Samsung SDS Company Ltd., Sony Pictures Entertainment LLC., Philips Healthcare, Intel Corporation and many others according to the website for this program.
