  • Integration of Zoho Sheet and Cloud Firestore
  • This section explains how to integrate Zoho Sheet with Cloud Firestore using the Zoho Sheet API. The fplowing steps are required to integrate Zoho Sheet with Cloud Firestore:

Step 1. Sign up for a free account at https://www.zoho.com/docs/api/v1/general-api.html.

Step 2. Create a new project at Project Dashboard in Project Settings tab in a few easy steps based on your requirement. For this tutorial, we will create a new project in the name of “Zoho Sheet Project” with a URL of “https://sheets-project.firebaseapp.com”. After that, click on the “Integrate IoC” button at the bottom right corner of the page.

Step 3. In the next screen, select the “Cloud Firestore” option from the list of services and click on the “Create New App” button under it. A new popup will appear where you need to provide a name for your app and a location for it. Click on the “Continue” button after entering these values.

Step 4. In the next screen, you need to provide a name for your project and then hit the “Create Project” button. After that, you will be presented with a list of options where you need to select “Google Cloud Platform Conspe” from them and hit the “Continue” button.

Step 5. In the next screen, go to the project dashboard by clicking on it from the left pane and then click on the “Develop” menu button on the top left side of the page and then click on the “Cloud Firestore” option. Click on the “Go To Conspe” button on the top right side of the page and then click on the “Create Database” button on the page that appears. Thereafter, enter some details such as Database Name and Description and click on the “CREATE DATABASE” button at the bottom of this page. After creating our database successfully, we can go back to Zoho Sheet Click on the “Project Settings” tab and scrpl down till you find the “Integration Keys” section and copy the API key and API secret key and store them in a secure place. These keys will be used later during integration with Cloud Firestore. Finally, we will go to our project dashboard and click on our newly created project and click on this project menu located on the top left side of the page and select our created database from all databases list and click on it to open its dashboard. Now we can query our Cloud Firestore database using Zoho Sheet API. However, before we start integrating our Zoho Sheet with Cloud Firestore we need to make sure that we have enabled access for anonymous users to our Cloud Firestore database. So let us go to settings in our Cloud Firestore database dashboard and enable access for anonymous users by ticking mark in this checkbox in the settings tab in our Cloud Firestore database dashboard.

After doing so let us go back to our Zoho Sheet project dashboard and click on our newly created project again in its top left side menu location there are three tabs are present there namely Project Settings, Web Services & API Management Tab & Analytics Tab. The important one is Web Services & API Management Tab here you can see all web services that are configured in our Web Service & API Management Tab. You can see here Zoho Sheet API key & API secret key are present there which we have copied earlier in step no 3 & 4 respectively each API key has corresponding endpoint URL also present there which we will use when integrating Zoho Sheet with Cloud Firestore in step 6 & 7 respectively Finally it has four sections which are named as Get Data/Create/Update/Delete which are similar to APIs present in Restful APIs these are used to perform write operation in our Cloud Firestore database using Web Services i.e Zoho sheet API key & API secret key which are present in step no 3 & 4 respectively for creating new document, updating existing document or deleting existing document from our Cloud Firestore database using REST APIs available in Zoho Sheets API keys which are present in step no 3 & 4 respectively Finally it has two options which are called Copy Key & Delete Key respectively these two options are used for copying & deleting API key & API secret key respectively from our Web Services & API Management Tab in order to use other API keys instead of existing API keys

Step 6. Let us create or read documents from our Cloud Firestore database using Zoho Sheets API key & API secret key provided by us while integrating Zoho Sheet with Cloud Firestore earlier in step no 3 & 4 respectively using this link https://sheets-project.firebaseapp.com/docs/rest/v1/projects/sheets-project/dbs/cloud_firestore_default?auth=<YOUR_API_KEY>&read=true&fields=contents

Step 7. Now let us try to update documents from Cloud firestore database using Zoho Sheets API key & API secret key provided by us while integrating Zoho Sheet with Cloud Firestore earlier in step no 3 & 4 respectively using this link https://sheets-project.firebaseapp.com/docs/rest/v1/projects/sheets-project/dbs/cloud_firestore_default?auth=<YOUR_API_KEY>&update=true&where=contents[%5B%7B%22index%22%3A0%7D%2C%22type%22%3A%22doc%22%7D]&replacing=contents[%5B%7B%22index%22%3A0%7D%2C%22type%22%3A%22doc%22%7D]

Step 8. Finally let us delete documents from our Cloud Firestore database using Zoho Sheets API key & API secret key provided by us while integrating Zoho Sheet with Cloud Firestore earlier in step no 3 & 4 respectively using this link https://sheets-project.firebaseapp.com/docs/rest/v1/projects/sheets-project/dbs/cloud_firestore_default?auth=<YOUR_API_KEY>&delete=true&where=contents[%5B%7B%22index%22%3A0%7D]
