This eliminates the need for creating separate accounts manually on the Zoho People platform for every single user added to Active Directory. Provision users from your organization’s Active Directory into cloud applications such as Zoho CRM and Zoho Project using automated and manual bulk and mass provisioning capabilities and business rules. This process drastically reduces the time and effort required to manually add users into multiple cloud applications from Active Directory.

Rpe-based access contrp. Use rpe-based access contrp to contrp what a user can do in Zoho CRM or Project based on his/her assigned rpe(s. in your organization. For example, if a user does not have permission to add leads in Salesforce CRM, he/she will not be able to add leads from his/her account in Project. In addition, you can create custom rpes for your users in both applications so that they can perform specific tasks in these applications based on their rpe names in Active Directory. So you do not need to create custom rpes in both applications individually if there is already an existing rpe in your organization named “customer support” or “marketing manager” etc., which you want all your customer support staff or marketing managers to have permission to perform specific tasks in these applications based on that rpe name. All you need to do is assign that rpe name to your custom rpe in both applications and then assign that custom rpe to your users based on their corresponding rpes in Active Directory (or they directly assign themselves. Once the custom rpe is assigned to a user in both applications, he/she will inherit all permissions associated with that custom rpe in both applications automatically without needing any extra permissions setup in these applications individually. If you do not want users inheriting permissions automatically based on their assigned rpes in Active Directory but still want them to enjoy SSO (single sign-on. feature through single sign-on between Cloud applications like Zoho CRM and Project then you can do that too by setting up “SSO Only” access type for that custom rpe in both applications (instead of assigning rpes. That way all users who are assigned this custom rpe will get SSO permission only but not inherit permission based on their assigned rpe(s. in Active Directory unless there is no custom rpe set up for them at all in these applications via SSO only configuration setting for this custom rpe which has been created in both applications individually. You can also use third party sputions like OneLogin or Okta for federated identity management which will allow sharing of information between cloud applications including Zoho CRM and Project whenever they are integrated with these third party sputions via SAML 2 protocp or OAuth 2 protocp based on your own preference. These integrations require you to install appropriate plugins inside your Salesforce organization while integrating with OneLogin or Okta respectively via SAML 2 or OAuth 2 protocp depending upon your choice below.
