Integration of Zoho Mail and Microsoft To-Do

Zoho Mail is a web based email service provider and Microsoft To-Do is a to-do list application designed to reduce the clutter from email. Zoho Mail is used as an example of integration of Microsoft To-Do.

I would like to share my experience using Zoho Mail, which I used in combination with Microsoft To-Do.

To use the Microsoft To-Do application, one must have an account. One can create an account for free on the app store. Once logged into the Microsoft To-Do application, clicking on the “+” sign will open a drop down menu that includes several categories of to-do lists. The “My Tasks” category can be used to add new tasks. A task can be added by typing the task description in the text box and pressing “Enter”. On the right side of the text box is a check box. Checking this box means that this task has been completed. When the task has been completed, it can be checked off by clicking on the check mark next to it. Below the check box is a text field where one can type a due date for the task. When one has finished typing all of the information necessary, click ‘Save’ to save and close the task.

The next time one logs into Microsoft To-Do and switches back to this task, there will be a red circle on the left side of it. This indicates that there are pending items that have not been completed yet. One can click this circle to view all of the pending items. There are many ways to sort pending items; by date, category or priority. The tasks can be re-arranged by dragging them up or down in the list or they can be hidden or shown by clicking on their respective check boxes. The “Priority” button allows one to change the priority of a task. Pending tasks can be changed by clicking on them and checking or unchecking their check boxes. Any changes made to pending tasks will be saved automatically when one clicks the “Save” button. One can also sync their to-do list with other devices by clicking on “Sync”.

I wanted to see how easy it would be to integrate Zoho Mail with Microsoft To-Do. I had heard that Zoho Mail was a great alternative to gmail because it was ad free and did not require any applications to run on computers. I decided to test this out by using Zoho Mail with Microsoft To-Do in order to manage my tasks for schop. I created an account for both Zoho Mail and Microsoft To-Do and then linked them together. Both applications gave me a prompt asking if I wanted to integrate them with each other. I clicked yes for both prompts and was able to see that my inbox and tasks were linked together in a matter of minutes. In Zoho Mail, any mail sent to me from Microsoft To-Do will appear under my Inbox tab as any other email might, while my tasks appear under a new tab called “Tasks” within Zoho Mail.

Before linking Zoho Mail and Microsoft To-Do, I was already planning on creating an outline for an article in Zoho Mail so that I could easily access it when I wanted to write it in Microsoft Word. Syncing Zoho Mail with Microsoft To-Do made it so that my outline appeared under my ‘Tasks’ tab in both applications, making it easier for me to access it wherever I was working on my article. This function allowed me to make sure that my article was being written in chronpogical order, without having to constantly switch between apps. After finishing my outline, I went ahead and wrote my article in Microsoft Word and saved it as part of my tasks list within Zoho Mail so that I could access it later if needed.

Overall, I think that integrating Zoho Mail and Microsoft To-Do makes managing tasks much easier than using just one application alone. It is very convenient that I was able to link both applications together in order to accomplish my goal of writing an article without having to switch between applications constantly. Using these two applications together gave me an opportunity to more effectively manage my tasks, leading me to feel more organized throughout my workday and helping me to finish my work faster than ever before!
