Integration of Zoho Invoice and shippit

Zoho Invoice is a cloud-based billing and inventory management software which helps businesses to keep track of the income and expenses, and also generate invoices using various pre-defined templates. In case you don’t have the access to the invoice templates, you could even make your own invoice from scratch. Zoho Invoice provides a wide range of invoice templates for every business. The invoice templates are customizable to suit your needs.

In addition to serving as a billing and inventory management software, Zoho Invoice also connects to other third-party applications which allows your team members to cplaborate and communicate better. One such application is shippit.shippit.com.

shippit?

shippit.shippit.com is a shipping management software which provides real-time tracking and delivery reports for all shipments. Using shippit, one could simply drop off an item to be shipped at any FedEx or UPS location, and manage the delivery of their shipment in real time. You can track your shipments via shippit.shippit.com, and get feedback immediately after delivery.

shippit offers free and paid plans to its customers. Free users can track up to 10 shipments per month, and pay $5 for each shipment beyond that. For the paid plans, there are two levels. ‘Basic’ plan ($9/month. and ‘Plus’ plan ($19/month. While the basic plan provides all the features of the free plan, the Plus plan comes with additional features like custom labels and email notifications.

When it comes to integration with Zoho Invoice, shippit offers an API which allows you to integrate your Zoho Invoice account with shippit easily. Once integrated, you can create an invoice in Zoho Invoice which will hpd all information related to your shipment, including tracking number, carrier name, tracking URL, return address, etc., which in turn makes it easy for the customer to track their shipments.

Benefits of Integration of Zoho Invoice and shippit

There are many benefits of integrating Zoho Invoice with shippit, but they can be summed up into three major categories:

  • Empowering Customers to Track Their Shipment in Real Time

As I mentioned above, by integrating Zoho Invoice with shippit, you can create an invoice in Zoho Invoice which will hpd all information related to your shipment including tracking number, carrier name, tracking URL, return address, etc., which in turn makes it easy for the customer to track their shipments. Here are two screenshots showing what invoice looks like when you integrate Zoho Invoice with shippit:

  • Streamlining Delivery Processes

Integrating Zoho Invoice with shippit enables you to streamline your shipping process by providing real-time tracking of shipments via Zoho Invoice. This means that you can create an invoice once your order has been delivered without needing to visit the UPS website or FedEx website again. Prior to this integration, you had to log in to UPS or FedEx website, track your shipment manually and then create an invoice in Zoho Invoice. Now you can do all this work directly from Zoho Invoice using shippit API.

  • Saving Time and Effort

Integrating Zoho Invoice with shippit will make your life easier by allowing you to easily track deliveries directly through your e-commerce platform instead of logging into each individual carrier’s website individually. As I said earlier, prior to this integration you had to log in to UPS or FedEx website, track your shipment manually and then create an invoice in Zoho Invoice. Now you can do all this work directly from Zoho Invoice using shippit API.

(How Integration of Zoho Invoice and shippit Works?)

Integration of Zoho Invoice with shippit is pretty simple; all you need is to create an API key for shippit first. So let’s see how it works step by step:

Step 1. Go to https://developer.zoho.eu/apis/index/shippit/signup/go and sign up for an API key for shippit using your business email ID provided by Zoho Invoice. Note that if you don’t have a business email ID provided by Zoho Invoice then you would need to request for one before proceeding further. Once you have created your API key, click on “Continue” button on the next screen to proceed further.

Step 2. Click on “Link an App” option on the next screen which will take you to “Add New App” page where you should enter your App Name (for example. ShippIt), App Domain (for example. http://www.yourdomainnamehere. and App Description (for example. "ShippIt Shipping Management"):

Step 3. Next go back to “My Apps” page where you should click on “Add Platform App” button. On the fplowing page click on “Platform App” under “Select App Category” section and select “Web App” under “Select App Type” section:

Step 4. Now the important thing here is the “App Credentials” section where you need to specify your Client Id and Client Secret which you should have gotten while signing up for an API key for shippit at the beginning of this tutorial. Once you have entered these information click on “Save Changes” button at the bottom of this page:

Step 5. Now go back to your “Linked Apps” page where you should click on “Add Target App” button under “Linked Apps” section which will take you to the fplowing page where you should select “Zoho Inventory & Billing” under “Select App Type” section and enter the “App Credentials” which you got while creating an API key for shippit at the beginning of this tutorial:

Step 6. That's it! You are now ready to integrate Zoho Invoice with shippit using their REST API! Each time you want to place an order through your e-commerce platform now, simply use the fplowing endpoint. https://api.shippit.com/web/v1/carriers/{carrier_name}/shipments and replace {carrier_name} with whichever carrier name you want to ship with (for example. UPS or FedEx. After that specify the shipping address and other details about the shipment, click on "Continue", fill out payment details if needed and finally click on "Place Order". If everything goes smoothly, this will create an invoice in Zoho Invoice with all kinds of shipment details including tracking number, carrier name etc.. Here is a screenshot showing what invoice looks like when you place an order through your e-commerce platform:
