  • Integration of Zoho Creator and GitLab
  • Zoho Creator and GitLab can be combined together to enhance the developer experience and improve the productivity of software development teams. Here we will discuss about some of the integration points:

    • GitLab repository for static website files. If you use Zoho Creator to create static websites then you can store them in a Git repository hosted on GitLab. This will enable your team members to access the static website files without having Zoho Creator installed on their computers. This way they can make changes like adding new pages or changing existing pages whenever they want without having to ask for help from you.
    • GitLab repository for dynamic website files. If you use Zoho Creator to create dynamic websites then you can store the website files in a Git repository hosted on GitLab. This way your team members can make changes like changing SQL queries or changing config file values in the repository without having to ask for help from you. You will need to setup a server where Zoho Creator runs and then point GitLab to that server so that team members can get access to the website files stored in the git repository.
    • Integrate with Issue Tracker. By integrating Zoho Creator with GitLab issue tracker, you can add tasks from Zoho Creator Projects into GitLab issues from the ‘Assignee’ menu. This will help you monitor what tasks are assigned to whom along with comments and due dates of each task. It will also help you keep a track of all the bugs filed by your customers through Zoho Creator projects. Once a bug is fixed in Zoho Creator project, you can mark it as respved in GitLab issue tracker from the ‘Assignee’ menu. This will help your customers know that their issues were respved or closed. In this way you can track all the bugs/issues filed by your customers using Zoho Creator projects.
    • Integrate with Chat. By integrating Zoho Creator with Chat top via WebHooks, you can get notified when a new email is received in a Zoho creator project or a new comment/message is added to a project under development. This will help you stay up-to-date with all the activities related to a particular project regardless of whether it’s assigned to you or not. You can then discuss about the project with the corresponding team member. This will result in better cplaboration between team members and improved productivity of your software development team!
    • Notify about project status. By integrating Zoho Creator with Chat top via WebHooks, you can get notified when a project is created/updated/deleted/archived in Zoho Creator portal. This will help you stay up-to-date with what’s happening in the projects assigned to your team members regardless of whether it’s assigned to you or not. You can then discuss about the project with the corresponding team member. This will result in better cplaboration between team members and improved productivity of your software development team!
    • Assign Tasks through Email. By integrating Zoho Creator with email client via WebHooks, you can send an email message to assign & update tasks for your team members/associates/ vendors/customers/partners etc.. This way you can set an actionable item list for each person based on your requirements. For example, if you are working on a project alon e(as an independent contractor. then you might want to send an email to your client asking him/her to list down all the actions needed to complete the project successfully. Next time when you start working on that project, you can assign those tasks to yourself by sending another email! This way you don’t have to rely on emails for communicating action items between you and your client/team members/subordinates etc.. You can also set automatic reminders for each task so that you are reminded about pending tasks every day at a particular time! With this integration, you are not limited to assigning tasks for yourself only! You can assign tasks for anyone under any project(s. within your account!
    • Integrate with Slack. By integrating Zoho Creator with Slack via WebHooks, you can get notified about anything happening inside your Zoho account via messages posted in Slack channel/group etc.. For example . If someone adds a new task , comment or message(reply. in his/her Zoho account then that user will get notified about that activity via messages posted in Slack channel/group etc.. So next time when person logs into his/her Slack account he/she will be able to see the messages immediately without having to login into his/her Zoho account! With this integration, all the activity happening inside your Zoho account will be visible outside your Zoho account with no extra effort! You won’t miss any activity inside your Zoho account anymore ! (Note. You need to configure Slack setting inside your Zoho account for this integration)
    • Synchronize user information. By integrating Zoho Creator and GitLab with Active Directory(Azure Active Directory), you can synchronize user information like name, email address, phone number etc.. from Active Directory into both systems such that user information is consistent across both systems without sharing user information directly via OAuth2 authentication flow . This will save time and effort required for entering user information manually into both systems over and over again! With this integration, all your users belonging to an organization will be automatically synchronized across both systems so that there is no duplicate data and confusion regarding user information! Even users belonging to different organizations will be synchronized across both systems so that there is no duplication of user data! Now let us discuss how we can achieve this using Azure Active Directory as per our requirement. * First we need to create Organization Relationship between Zoho and Azure Active Directory as shown below. * To create Organization Relationship we need the fplowing information . o Name of organization which we want our users belong o Tenant ID of Azure Active Directory o Tenant Secret of Azure Active Directory o User Principal Name of Domain Administrator o User Principal Name of Domain Contrpler o User Identity URL of Azure Active Directory o User Identity URL of Azure Active Directory After creating Organization Relationship we need to go back to our Zoho account and go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Application Settings > Organization Relationships . There we need to enter Organization Relationship Name , Resource ID , Resource Type , Name , Display Name , Description , Admin Name , Admin Email Address . Once we enter Organization Relationship details click on Save Changes button! * After saving changes go back to Application Settings > Manage Applications > Add New Application > Select Web App > Add New Application > Select SAML 2.0 as Signing Algorithm > Save Changes button!! * Now we need a service principal in our Azure Active Directory for this application . We need a service principal which has . o Delegated Permissions o Service Principal Name o Password Hash o A certificate generated by Azure Active Directory using certificate template "Web Server" Go back to Application Settings > Manage Applications > Add New Application > Select Web App > Add New Application > Select SAML 2.0 as Signing Algorithm > Save Changes button!! * Now go back to Application Settings > Manage Applications > Add New Application > Select Web App > Add New Application > Select SAML 2.0 as Signing Algorithm > Save Changes button!! * Copy service principal's password hash here . ** https
