Integration of Zendesk and Twilio


Zendesk is a call center software platform that helps companies better support their customers. It allows companies to handle customer queries via phone, email and Web chat. Zendesk also provides agents with a real-time dashboard that shows the status of customer interactions, including the types of issues being handled and the time spent on each one.

Zendesk also has a self-service option that lets customers access their data online. They can update their profiles, view past interactions and access support articles.

The company was founded in 2007 by Mikkel Svane and Alexander Aghassipour. Both previously worked for Danish telecommunications company TDC Group. The name Zendesk is derived from a Danish word meaning “support desk” or “help desk.”


Twilio is a cloud communications platform. It allows developers to build applications that make and receive phone calls and text messages using standard web languages like PHP, Python and Ruby. Twilio provides these services through an application programming interface (API. that handles the underlying details of connecting users, making payments and other such tasks.

Twilio was founded in 2008 by Jeff Lawson, Evan Cooke and John Wpthuis. Fplowing its launch, it received $3 million in seed funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, Y Combinator and FundersClub. In September 2011, Twilio raised $11 million in Series A funding led by Union Square Ventures with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners and First Round Capital.

Twilio debuted on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbp TWLO on June 9, 2016. The initial public offering of 10 million shares was priced at $15 per share, but rose as high as $26.50 during its first day of trading before settling to close at $23.13. The company reported revenue of $70.4 million for 2015 with a net loss of $54.2 million, but reported a net profit of $0.09 for the first quarter of 2016.

Integration of Zendesk and Twilio
