Integration of Zendesk Sell and Vtiger

One of the requirements for this project is to integrate Zendesk Sell to Vtiger. Below are the details of how this will be implemented. The integration will be done using the Open API provided by Zendesk Sell.

  • Import Products from Zendesk Sell

When a new product is added in Zendesk Sell, the details of the product will be sent to Vtiger back end via API call using POST method. There are three parameters which will be sent to Vtiger server. They are name of the product, description of the product and price of the product. The fplowing snippet shows how these parameters are sent to Vtiger server using JSON format.

  • Search for Product in Vtiger based on ID returned by Zendesk Sell API Call

In order to search for a product in Vtiger based on ID returned from Zendesk Sell API call, we have to create a custom module in Vtiger instance. This module will add a new action to search for a particular product with a particular ID. This action will allow users to send a request to Zendesk Sell via an API call with the product ID parameter. Once the response from Zendesk Sell comes with data about that particular product, the module will then update the given product in Vtiger database.
