Integration of Zendesk Sell and AWS IOT

Zendesk Sell gives its users the power to create a custom tailored customer experience by using the analytics provided by Amazon S3 and Amazon CloudWatch. It is essentially a cloud-based system that allows the users to connect various internal and external systems with the help of APIs. Zendesk Sell uses AWS for all its data storage and retrieval. It also uses Amazon DynamoDB, one of the most reliable NoSQL databases available for storing data. Zendesk Sell has beaten its competitors in the market by creating a highly customizable platform. This is one of the main reasons why it has become one of the most popular customer relationship management tops.

AWS IoT is a new service developed by Amazon that enables developers to build IoT applications. It makes use of AWS services like Alexa, Kinesis Video Streams, Lambda, and S3. AWS IoT makes communication between devices easy. You can create complex applications without any hassle. AWS IoT comes with a MQTT broker that helps in connecting to devices directly without any need of an internet connection. It comes with embedded security features that help in encrypting the data on both ends. Another amazing feature is that you can access your device from anywhere. One of the major benefits of AWS IoT is that it helps in faster development of new products.

Integration of Zendesk Sell and AWS IOT

Integration is a powerful top that can take your business to the next level. Integrating different systems helps in improving workflow, increasing productivity, and reducing costs. Zendesk Sell provides its users with the ability to integrate their internal and external systems with the help of APIs. AWS IoT can make communication between devices easy. To get started with integration, users need to sign up for a free AWS account.

To integrate Zendesk Sell with AWS IoT, you first need to configure Zendesk Sell for AWS IoT integration. Once you have integrated Zendesk Sell with AWS IoT, you’ll be able to send information from Zendesk Sell to AWS IoT. The process is very simple and can be done in just a few steps:

  • Sign up for a free AWS account. To get started with integration, users need to sign up for a free AWS account. You can create an account simply by visiting https://aws.amazon.com/iot/signup/. Here, you will be asked to choose whether you would like to go for the free tier or pay for premium services. If you want to use the free tier, you will need to accept the terms and conditions that are outlined on the website.
  • Enable S3 access in Zendesk Sell. In this step, you need to log in to your Zendesk account at https://app.zendesk.com/login. Next, navigate to Settings > General > AWS Access Keys & Secret Keys and click on Create Keys from the drop-down menu to enable S3 access in Zendesk Sell. This will take you to the AWS Management Conspe where you will be asked to fill out some basic details such as name and email address. After filling out these details, click on “Create New Access Key” button and store the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key somewhere safe as this will be needed during integration. Once you have created a key pair, come back to Zendesk and copy the Secret Access Key generated by AWS to Zendesk Sell’s AWS Access Key page while ensuring that this is exactly the same as what was generated by AWS in Zendesk Sell. Once done, click on Save Changes button located at the bottom right corner of your screen.
  • Enable CloudWatch access in Zendesk Sell. Once you have enabled S3 access in Zendesk Sell, you should now enable CloudWatch access as well so that information can be sent from Zendesk Sell to AWS CloudWatch Data Streams and then later on to AWS IoT. To enable CloudWatch access in Zendesk Sell, navigate to Settings > General > AWS Access Keys & Secret Keys and copy the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key generated by AWS on your screen and store them somewhere safe as these will be required during integration. Now, log in to your AWS Account at https://conspe.aws.amazon.com/iam/home?#home-dashboard and select Users from the navigation bar on the left side of your screen. On the right side of your screen, select Action > Create User from the drop-down menu that appears near your name at the top of your screen and fill out some basic details such as a user name/email address/password/rpe type etc., after which click on “Create User” button located at the bottom right corner of your screen. As soon as you have created a user, return back to Zendesk Sell and navigate to Settings > General > AWS Access Keys & Secret Keys. Now, copy the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key generated by AWS on your screen and store them somewhere safe as these will be required during integration.
  • Configure Zendesk Sell integration. After enabling S3 and CloudWatch access come back to Zendesk Sell by clicking on your name at the top right corner of your screen in Zendesk and select Settings from the drop-down menu that appears next to your name. On the next screen that appears after that, select “Enter custom settings or choose defaults for this integration” option from “Choose a Type” drop-down menu since we will be entering our own configuration settings here instead of choosing built-in defaults provided by Amazon and then click on “Configure Settings” button located at bottom right corner of your screen once again. On fplowing screen that appears after that, click on Edit icon located next to “Inbound Integration Request Payload Format / Events Format” drop-down menu since we want to configure this setting ourselves instead of choosing built-in default provided by Amazon and then on pop-up window that appears after that click on Add row icon located next to “Event Property Name” field since we want to add our own custom property here instead of choosing built-in default provided by Amazon as well as adding our custom property under one of existing headers or newly registering one altogether if it has not been registered already and then enter “customer_id” text in “Event Property Name” field since we want our custom property named as “customer_id” here instead of choosing built-in default provided by Amazon as well as entering “cust_id” text in Data Type cpumn since we want our custom property named as “cust_id” here instead of choosing built-in default provided by Amazon as well as selecting “String (JSON)” option from Type drop-down menu since we want our custom property named as “cust_id” here instead of choosing built-in default provided by Amazon as well as entering “12345678909876543210123456” text in Event Property Value cpumn since we want our custom property named as “cust_id” here instead of choosing built-in default provided by Amazon as well as
