WordPress is an open-source content management system, also known as CMS. It can be used to create websites and blogs. It is written in PHP and MySQL (a database management system. Stripe is a payment processor. It allows anyone to accept payments online through credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and other payment methods. WordPress supports the integration of Stripe through a plugin called Stripe Payments for WooCommerce. Using this plugin, you can accept payments through Stripe. - The Stripe plugin decreases the possibility of fraud by verifying that the customer’s credit card came from an actual bank account. It does this by sending an authorization code to the customer’s mobile phone number or email address. This ensures that the customer has possession of the actual card. If they do not have possession of the card, then they would not have access to the verification code.
- The Stripe plugin decreases order abandonment by allowing customers to change their shipping address after confirming their order. This is possible because the plugin integrates with WooCommerce. WooCommerce allows you to add/change/remove shipping addresses without leaving the order page on which they were added or changed. This is beneficial because it eliminates the confusion that often occurs when customers have to log in to a different page just to make changes to their shipping address.
- Customers are able to see their order history and past payments using the Stripe plugin. This feature allows them to track their orders easily and also provides them peace of mind knowing that their personal information won’t be stpen since they don’t have to enter any passwords or credit card information again during checkout.
