This blog post is about WordPress Quiz Maker and Gravity Forms. If you are not familiar with these plugins, this post will give you a brief introduction to them.
WordPress Quiz Maker
WordPress Quiz Maker is a WordPress plugin that allows users to create beautiful quizzes in minutes. The quiz can be used for educational purposes, survey questionnaires, market research, or just for fun. It consists of 10 different types of questions, 9 question styles, and 7 presentation styles. This plugin has been downloaded over 1 million times.
Gravity Forms
Gravity Forms is a WordPress plugin that provides an easy way to add contact forms to your site. From the most basic contact form to the most complex applications, it’s all possible with Gravity Forms. It comes with shortcodes, conditional logic (to make sure the contact form is shown only when needed), email notifications, payment integration, Google maps integration, etc.
You can use the quiz results of WordPress Quiz Maker in Gravity Form by adding the gform_quiz_id parameter in PHP code (see below. With that parameter, you can retrieve the quiz results for any quiz in your account. You can further use that quiz result to populate textboxes or input boxes in Gravity Form.
In addition to retrieving the quiz result from the WordPress Quiz Maker via PHP code, you can integrate it directly into Gravity Form. For example, you can add a select box to choose a quiz from a list of all quizzes in your WordPress account. The selected quiz would then be displayed on the form for users to answer questions from it. To do so, you need to add a few lines of code in your “Additional Settings” section under “General” tab in the form settings. See the screenshot below:
As you can see in the screenshot above, a list of all quizzes from your WordPress account has been added into a drop-down menu. Each quiz has been assigned a unique ID which you will use to identify it later on in your PHP code. In this example, I have added two quizzes into the list:
Quiz 1. “My Quiz” has ID 1 and has been assigned to Select Box 1 . It contains 12 questions.
Quiz 2. “Your Quiz” has ID 4 and has been assigned to Select Box 2. It contains 12 questions as well.
You might be wondering why you should integrate WordPress Quiz Maker with Gravity Forms if it’s already easy to set up a contact form with Gravity Forms by itself. Here are some reasons:
Using the quiz result(s. from WordPress Quiz Maker in Gravity Form can add more value to your site by providing great content and interaction between your users and your site. For example, if you provide a quiz with 12 questions about “How Healthy Are You?” and let users fill in their answers and submit the form afterwards, your users will be provided with an overall health rating after submitting the form and clicking on “View Results” button at the bottom of the form. This rating is calculated based on their answers to the 12 questions. Also, they will be able to see how they compare against other users who have taken that same quiz before (via option called “Compare against other visitors who took this quiz”. This rating can be used as an incentive for users to take your product/service and/or share it with others via social media channels such as Facebook or Twitter. Similar approach can also be applied for other contents such as surveys, market research surveys, etc. And since this integration is done via PHP code, there is no limit on how many quizzes you want to include. Customization is also possible using CSS (for styling. and JavaScript (for advanced functionality like displaying score card after results are submitted. You can check out this demo site that I built recently which uses WordPress Quiz Maker and Gravity Form together (click here for demo.
To conclude, integration of WordPress Quiz Maker with Gravity Forms allows you to create more engaging content for your site which provides more value for your users and increases engagement rate on your site. This is especially useful for sites which provide content like surveys, market research surveys, educational resources, etc.
