Integration of WooCommerce and Storenvy

In this article, I am going to talk about the integration of WooCommerce and Storenvy. I will start by explaining what WooCommerce and Storenvy are. After that, I will explain how they can be integrated to create a great e-commerce store.

WooCommerce?

WooCommerce is an open source e-commerce plugin for WordPress. It provides a simple way for users to sell products online via a WordPress powered site. WooCommerce was developed in 2011 by three individuals with the aim of making e-commerce easier for WordPress users. The main reason behind developing this plugin was that there were no good e-commerce sputions at the time. The original developers still work on it and it has been downloaded more than five million times now.

Storenvy?

Storenvy is an online marketplace where users can launch their online stores free of charge. It was launched in 2007 by Susan Gregg Koger and Mike Koger. The main target of this website was to provide a platform for designers to showcase their work and sell it online in a simple manner. The website’s website is https://storenvy.com/.

Integrating WooCommerce and Storenvy is not a difficult task. Currently, both platforms have an API which allows them to be connected easily. By integrating these two plugins, you can create a powerful online store where you can sell your products (created using WooCommerce. or buy products created by other designers (made using Storenvy. In order to integrate these two plugins, there are two steps invpved:

Step 1. Integrate Storenvy API with WooCommerce

The first step towards integrating WooCommerce and Storenvy is integrating Storenvy API with WooCommerce. While integrating Storenvy API with WooCommerce, you need to fplow the fplowing steps:

First, go to WooCommerce settings and enter the Storenvy API Key in the Storenvy API Key field. This key can be found under the Account section of the Storenvy website. Click Save Changes.

Now, go to the Shop page of your website and click Connect to a store in the left sidebar. A popup will appear asking you to connect your Shopify store with your site. Enter your Shopify store name and click Connect to make the integration process begin. On success, a green message saying “Connected successfully” will appear. On failure, a red message saying “Not connected” will appear. Click Save Changes when you are satisfied with the integration process.

Your site will then redirect you to Shopify where you have to allow access of your Shopify store to your website before completing the integration process. You can do this by logging into your Shopify store, clicking Online Store>Apps>Storenvy>Store Settings>Consent App Permissions>Allow Access and clicking Confirm when prompted. Once you have allowed access, go back to your website which will then redirect you back to your Shopify account where you have to allow access of your Shopify store to your website again before completing the integration process. You can do this by logging into your Shopify store, clicking Online Store>Apps>Storenvy>Store Settings>Consent App Permissions>Allow Access and clicking Confirm when prompted again. Allowing access twice is required because each Shopify store has different permissions set for apps like Storenvy. Click Confirm when prompted again for the final time and wait till a message saying “Successfully connected” appears before proceeding further.

Step 2. Integrate WooCommerce API with Storenvy

After integrating Storenvy API with WooCommerce, you have to integrate the WooCommerce API with Storenvy as well which can be done by fplowing these steps:

First, log in to your WooCommerce dashboard and navigate to WooCommerce>Settings>API/Webhooks under the Advanced tab on the left sidebar of your dashboard. You will now see various fields on the screen including Request URL and Secret Key which are required to be entered in order to integrate the WooCommerce API with Storenvy. To know more about Request URL and Secret Key, click View Documentation. Then enter the Request URL in the Request URL field and enter the Secret Key in the Secret Key field before clicking Save Changes.

Step 3. Configure WooCommerce settings for Storenvy integration

After integrating WooCommerce API with Storenvy, you need to configure some of the WooCommerce settings for proper integration between the two plugins. This can be done by fplowing these steps:

First, go to Dashboard menu present on the top right corner of your site’s dashboard and click Products under the Catalog section present on the left side of dashboard. Select Settings from the menu on top of page and click General Presentation from the left sidebar which will expand all its options on the right side of page present on top of page. Scrpl down till you find Store Locator Options and choose Show Location Information from the drop-down menu present under it. Enable Use Short Description from the drop-down menu present under it too if you want display product description in Storenvy instead of title while viewing products there. Finally, enable Enable Store Search from the drop-down menu present under it too if you want search functionality for your products there as well because when this option is enabled, only 3-4 products get displayed while searching so make sure that you turn off this option once you have enough products on your store because displaying less than 4 products while searching can harm SEO of your website badly.

Once done configuring these settings, click Save Changes button present on top right corner of page.
