Integrate WooCommerce with Sina Weibo

WooCommerce is a free and open source e-commerce platform for running online stores. It was founded by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little in 2011. WooCommerce is one of the most popular platforms for building an online store, boasting over 3 million active installs as of January 2017. WooCommerce has been downloaded over 20 million times and powers 30,000+ active websites. It’s also the most popular e-commerce spution on WordPress.org, powering over 1/3 of e-commerce sites.

Sina Weibo

Sina Weibo (Chinese. 新浪微博; pinyin. Xīnlàng Wēi Bó. is a Chinese microblogging service. It is similar to Twitter, but has more features, such as showing location of users and allowing users to update their statuses via mobile phone services. With 100 million registered users, it is the largest microblogging service in China.

Integration of WooCommerce and Sina Weibo

As we all know that since Sina Weibo was launched in August 2009, it has already attracted many people’s attention and become one of the most influential social networks in China. Meanwhile, WooCommerce also took off in 2011 and become so popular in recent years, which made me feel curious about how they relate to each other? According to my research, there are some channels which could be used to integrate these two well-known platforms together:

• One is the way of embedding Sina Weibo into WooCommerce. In order to do this, you can use the plugin called “Weibo Connect” which has been developed by Themes and Plugins from China. Through this plugin, you can add a Sina Weibo button on your store pages as fplowings:

• Another way is embedding WooCommerce into Sina Weibo. • Last but not least, integrating them through API of each platform, for example, you can use API of Sina Weibo to interact with your store and API of WooCommerce to display your products on Sina Weibo, then you can get many benefits from both platforms at the same time. However, considering the huge data vpume from each platform, it would be better to use third party platform to help you realize this integration project. For example, you can use Aliyun’s Cloud Service to build your own data center or cloud platform based on your requirements. Then you can use services such as Aliyun OSS to implement the integration project between Sina Weibo and WooCommerce.
