WooCommerce is a free WordPress plugin that enables you to sell products online. It is the most popular eCommerce platform in the world, with an estimated 30% of all online stores built on it.
It was originally created in 2011 by the parent company of WooThemes, WooCommerce was forked by Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com.
Here are some of it’s features:

Configurable product options allow you to sell customizable products such as size and cpor combinations. You can also use images and texts to describe your products and customers can select their preferred combination and pay only one price for it.
Configurable shipping rates allow you to choose different rates based on destination and shipping method. This helps you to offer free delivery to certain locations or get special prices from shipping companies. You can also get special discounts from shipping companies if your total order value is high enough. For example, you could get $10 off if your total order value is $500 or more. Shipping rates can be based on the weight of the product, dimensions of the product, zones (states, cities. and other factors like the store’s location and the type of shipping (next day or regular.
Product and customer reviews allow customers to provide feedback about the products they bought and the service they received from you. This gives them a sense of security and ensures they feel confident about buying from you again. The WooCommerce customer review system also integrates with Facebook’s Graph API. If a customer has a Facebook account, then his or her online review will be published on their Facebook timeline, providing reach to a much wider audience than just your own website. Reviews feed into Google searches too if someone searches for a product you sell using Google search. This gives your business a higher ranking in Google search results, which in turn brings potential customers to your website.
Shipping methods allow you to choose from a variety of shipping options to choose from depending on the nature of the order and budget considerations. These include free shipping, standard delivery, express delivery, overnight delivery and others. In addition to these, you can also add special rules for specific situations such as bulk orders to be delivered in a dedicated container or for specific packages that need special handling because they contain fragile goods. You can also create your own method if none of the existing ones fit your needs. We shall discuss this in our integration with Knack.com.
Customer groups help you to automate certain processes in your store based on how a customer is classified in your system. For example, if a customer falls under a certain group, then he or she will be sent a discount code or a gift when they reach a particular milestone in their purchase history with your store. This includes adding a new item to their shopping cart, entering their email address in a form field, leaving a review or making their first purchase from you. You can combine multiple groups into one too by creating parent groups that have child groups beneath it with certain rules applied to both groups simultaneously. For example, there could be a “New Customers” group that contains a “New Customer – First Order” child group beneath it so every customer who places an order for the first time will have both memberships in those two groups simultaneously. This makes it easier for you to send out emails containing offers and discounts as well as send out emails containing renewal reminders to those customers who have reached a certain milestone in their purchase history with you. We shall create our own custom group as part of our integration with Knack as well as have our users create their own custom groups as part of their own customizations for each e-commerce store using WooCommerce and Knack together.
Extensive theme support – WooCommerce themes are available on WordPress theme directory and thousands more are accessible from third parties through paid plugins or free themes. There are even options to customize cpors and use them as per your requirement. Furthermore, many eCommerce providers offer premium themes that come with design templates for online stores already built-in. It also supports responsive design which means that your website will look sharp on any device from desktop computers, laptops, tablets and phones with any browser installed on them - all with no extra coding required from your end! Nowadays it is rare to see websites that do not fplow responsive design standards and hence it is advised that you use this feature if possible so as not to miss out on potential customers who may be viewing your site on one of those devices.
Additional Functionality – WooCommerce has additional functionality such as. Automatic updates for itself as well as all core modules extensions and themes that are installed on your site such as stock management systems that allow you to track sales and inventory levels without having to manually update those levels after every sale. Security features such as forcing customers to log in before allowing them access to your website and storing sensitive information such as credit card numbers and passwords using encrypted databases (more on this later. Image editing tops such as allowing users to upload images (products. and edit them (such as cropping them or adding text overlays. through an interface within your website itself – again saving more time and effort for you and your users – giving them more time to work on things that matter such as improving their business or spending time with loved ones rather than learning how to use image editing software such as GIMP or Photoshop – more on this later too!
