WHMCS is a software that allows companies to manage their clients on their websites. It offers a lot of options for customized hosting and billing. WHMCS has a module called “GitHub Integration” which allows them to integrate WHMCS with GitHub. It is free of charge and it can be found on the WHMCS website in the WHMCS Marketplace.
WHMCS has a wide range of features, and it was designed specifically for web hosting companies. It is used worldwide by many hosting providers and resellers who are looking for an advanced way to manage their customers. The software is a powerful top that is used in over 200 countries by hosting companies of all sizes. WHMCS is translated into multiple languages, which allows WHMCS to attract customers from all over the world.
WHMCS integrates with various third-party providers to offer additional packages and services for clients, such as file transfers, cloud storage, or email hosting. This is why WHMCS decided to integrate with GitHub, a popular and widely spread code repository host. Git is a source code management system that keeps track of changes to files and the history of changes made to the files. As GitHub is commonly used by developers to keep track of code changes, WHMCS wanted to combine its software with GitHub so that its users could easily export their data from WHMCS and import it into GitHub.
Integration of WHMCS and GitHub is done through a module called “GitHub Integration”. WHMCS integrated with GitHub is free of charge and it can be found on the WHMCS website in the WHMCS Marketplace. The module offers secure integration and easy export/import between WHMCS and GitHub. For every new customer, WHMCS generates an API key which allows data exchange between WHMCS and GitHub. An API key is a unique set of characters that identifies a specific application or website. API keys allow companies to contrp and monitor access to their information. Before using the integration feature, users need to create an API key on the GitHub website and then store it in WHMCS under Account Settings -> Integration -> Github -> API Key Management. Once the API key is stored in WHMCS, users can proceed to integration between WHMCS and GitHub. To do so, they need to go to the WHMCS Marketplace, search for “GitHub Integration”, enable it, and click “Import Data” link on the right side of the module’s details page. Once the data has been imported from GitHub, users can go back to their accounts within WHMCS and see what is transferred. To be able to view exported data in GitHub, users need to get an installed OAuth2 token there first. Then they will need to enter that token into WHMCS under Account Settings -> Integration -> Github -> OAuth2 Token Management. After that they can check if their exported data appears correctly in WHMCS, as well as view it in GitHub under Account Settings -> Integrations and Services -> GitHub -> View Credentials. With this module, users can now easily export all accounts’ data from WHMCS, import it into GitHub, and also update existing accounts in WHMCS with new data from GitHub.
Benefits of integration between WHMCS and GitHub include no more time wasted on exporting data from one platform and importing it into another; easier management of client data because everything is now coordinated; seamless transition between platforms when it comes to working with data; better security because only authorized users can access data; no more complicated migration processes when switching from one platform to another; simpler management of accounts because everything is done from one location; more efficient work process because everything is streamlined; more accurate tracking of changes because versioning is enabled; easier cplaboration among team members because they can now work together on any project without any restrictions; faster transfer of data from one platform to another which saves both time and money; and last but not least, better customer support because now it is possible for clients to request help online or send a ticket via email without leaving their accounts within WHMCS or paying extra fees for additional services that are not provided by default.
For hosting companies who want to take advantage of integration between WHMCS and GitHub, there are some prerequisites before doing so. you must have already created an account on WHMCS; you must have already created an account on GitHub; you must have already created an API key on the former; you must own a web hosting company with at least one active account on the latter; you must have purchased the “GitHub Integration” module on the former; you must have entered your OAuth2 token on the latter; you must have updated your OAuth2 token on the latter; you must have added your API key on the former; you must have entered your OAuth2 token on the former; you must have updated your password on the former; you must have activated the integration between the former and the latter in order for your accounts’ data to appear in GitHub (this can be done under Account Settings -> Integration -> Github -> OAuth2 Token Management); and last but not least, you must enter your API key while updating your company’s profile or adding a new one (this can be done under Account Settings -> Integration -> Github.
